The Headless Horseman Quest Guide in FischFright 2025
You get the Jack-o-Blazer Rod as the final reward on completing the Jack-o-Blazers questline given to you by the Headless Horseman. Head over to Crook’s Hollow, and speak to the Headless Horseman, to start this series of five quests.
Quest 1: Catch a Frightful Jack-O-Lantern
The first task is to bring the Headless Horseman a Frightful Jack-O-Lantern. You can fish for a Jack-O-Lantern anywhere in the Halloween area during autumn and clear weather. It prefers Gummy Fish bait, which boosts your chances of catching one.
However, you’ll also need it to have the Frightful Mutation. There are two ways to get this. The first is by appraising your Jack-O-Lantern at the appraiser in the Halloween area, though the mutation rate is low.
The second (and faster) method is to buy a Frightful Relic from the Flying Dutchman, who appears randomly around the island. This relic costs 2000 Candy and lets you enchant your rod to give fish a chance to spawn with the Frightful Mutation.
You can also trade with other players for a Frightful Jack-O-Lantern if you want to skip the grind.
Quest 2: Collect 5 Wisps
Once you’ve delivered the Frightful Jack-O-Lantern, the next step is to collect five Wisps. These can be found in the graveyard area near the Nessie statue, behind the Headless Horseman’s location.
Every few minutes, some gravestones start glowing blue. When you see one, walk up to it and press E to collect a Wisp. They respawn about every 10 minutes, so it won’t take too long to grab all five.
Quest 3: Find a Haunted Candle
Next, you’ll need to find a Haunted Candle inside the Mansion on Crook’s Hollow. Head into the building and look closely at all the candles around the rooms. The haunted one stands out because it’s dark and ghostly compared to the regular candles.
It can spawn in different spots, so check each area carefully. The mansion isn’t too large, so this quest should be quick once you know what to look for.
Quest 4: Get a Blazed Handle

The Blazed Handle is a fiery crafting component that symbolizes the Headless Horseman’s spirit, and it’s essential for forging the Jack-o-Blazer Rod in the final quest. It can take several tries, so keep completing Goblin quests until you get it.
Quest 5: Collect 5000 Candy
The final step is collecting 5000 Candy, which can be earned in several ways:
- trick-or-treat at houses in Crook’s Hollow,
- complete NPC quests,
- turn in ingredients to the Witch,
- open Frightful Crates you get while fishing.
Each method gives different amounts of Candy, but combining them helps you reach the goal faster. Trick-or-treating and NPC fish quests are especially good since they can give hundreds of Candy at once.
Once you’ve got all 5000 Candy, return to the Headless Horseman to complete the questline and receive the Jack-o-Blazer Rod.
