Halloween is right around the corner, and Prospecting has already geared up with its spooks and terrors. With new map changes, new NPCs, new locations and a brand new currency, there’s a lot to look forward to this update. In this guide, we’ll explain everything that’s new in the Halloween update and what goodies you can get in this limited-time event for Prospecting.
New Location: The Graveyard
A brand new location has been added called The Graveyard, which is accessed through the portal that lies between Rubble Creek and Fortune River. On your way to the portal, you’ll notice that the entire map has changed as well, with every corner looking more Halloween-themed. Inside the portal, you’ll reach The Graveyard.
Inside The Graveyard, there is a plethora of new content to explore, most prominently two new locations – The Church and Halloween Creek, where a new merchant spawns. Digging during the Halloween event will get you Spooky and Ghostly ores, instead of regular ones. These can be used at The Cauldron inside The Graveyard.
New NPCs
Three new NPCs have been added with Prospecting’s new Halloween update – the Reaper, the Ghost, and the Skeleton. Each of them will offer you new items and quests. Here are the quests you need to complete for each of these NPCs:
- The Reaper: Interact with him to obtain a new Spooky Mask and a new quest, which requires you to scare 25 NPCs around the Prospecting map.
- The Ghost: For the Ghost, you need to collect 200 Rock Candy to complete his quest.
- The Skeleton: To complete the Skeleton’s quest, you need to bring 1 Lost Soul to him.
Completing all these quests will reward you with Rock Candy, which is the brand new currency that’s been introduced with the Halloween event.
New Currency & Shop Items
Rock Candy is the new currency that has been added to Prospecting as a part of this year’s Halloween event. Rock Candy is used to purchase new items from the shop. To obtain Rock Candy, you need to either complete quests, or get them from The Cauldron, where you can deposit Spooky or Ghostly ores to brew up Rock Candies. Here are the new Shop items added with the Halloween update:
- Ghost Gummy
- Candy Corn
- Luminant Totem
- Snow Globe
- Solar Magnifier
- Rain Stone
- Infernal Idol
- Ring of Harvest Blueprint
- Amulet of Spirits Blueprint
- Pumpkin Lord Blueprint
These items offer new perks and bonuses which will make your digging experience more rewarding and satisfying, while the last three items are Blueprints for crafting items in Prospecting. New Pan & Shovel
New Halloween-themed Pumpkin Pan and Pumpkin Pan have been added with the Halloween update, found inside The Church at The Graveyard in Prospecting. This limited-time Pan and Shovel is purchased with 1,000 Rock Candy each. Since the new currency is pretty hard to obtain, grinding out for the new Pan and Shovel can take quite some time, but eventually you’ll get there.
Here are the stats for the Pumpkin Pan and Pumpkin Shovel:

Apart from these new items and content updates, new minor changes have been introduced with the Halloween event as well, listed below:
- Added a hide quests button.
- The order of your hotbar saves between servers.
- Fixed issue while tooltip clipping.
- Small visual changes/fixes.
