The Complete Guide To Reforging In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

From powerful swords to staffs and Halberds, Dynasty Warriors: Origins brings all kinds of weapons to the game. While you play as a protagonist with amnesia during the fall of the Han Dynasty, you will come across new equipment you can pick up for your character.

Once you progress far enough in this historical action game, you’ll unlock the Reforge System, allowing you to upgrade & customize your weapons for maximum impact. Here’s a guide to how this system works and what upgrades you can go for in Dynasty Warriors: Origins.

The option to reforge your weapons will unlock after you complete the storyline as a part of any one of the factions in the game. This mechanism will allow you to modify your weapon to your liking, by transferring skills from another weapon. Even though you first start with a normal sword, you’ll get hold of rare weapons as you keep defeating enemies and completing the battles.

If you’ve just started Dynasty Warriors: Origins, it’s better to pick up weapons dropped by the soldiers during battles. You’d need a lot of gold to purchase weapons, so trying to salvage new ones dropped by officers is a better option.

To start reforging your weapons once you complete the game, go to a city and in the Weapons menu select “Reforge”, where you’d usually select Weapons Shop or Weapons Sell.

Once you open the Reforge tab, you’ll see all the weapons you currently own in the game. Select the weapon you want to add the skills to. Keep in mind that it’s better to go for a weapon that has many slots since you cannot add new slots. The more slots your primary weapon has, the more qualities it can gain from the other weapon.

Both the weapons should be of the same type and have the same grade to be able to infuse them.

The Reforge menu will have two options:

    • Reforge Power – Cost depends on the power jump
    • Reforge Traits – Costs around 1,000 coins

    Reforge Power

This option will allow you to make your weapons more powerful. In the Reforge Power tab, choose the weapon you want to upgrade and pick another weapon of the same type. You can upgrade to a max level of +99. Keep in mind that the duplicate weapon (the one with the lower power) will get destroyed in the process.

    Reforge Traits

Instead of increasing the overall power of your weapon, Reforging its traits will allow you to replace traits on your weapon. The process is simple: Choose the trait from your main weapon which you want replaced, and choose a weapon with a trait that you want to replace it by. You can also use this mechanic to replace certain perks you don’t like from your primary weapon.

You can keep doing this till you get the right set of traits on your main weapon. Remember, this only replaces a trait, it does not add an extra trait to your weapon

Both of these reforging options are of great help if you want to complete the entire game quickly. As you go around traveling through ancient China, you face many foes that have increasing levels of power. Reforging your weapons will allow you to personalize them according to your battle style.

You can also just choose to buy new weapons, but it will progressively get more expensive as you go far in the game. Just be mindful of the skills & powers you transfer between primary and duplicate weaponry and soon enough you’ll have an ultimate weapon that can defeat anyone with ease.
