While looking into what you should do for your next Terraria playthrough, you have probably heard of getfixedboi, or For the Worthy, and wondered what those are all about. These were Terraria Secret Seeds, but they aren’t such a big secret anymore.

In the days before this new update, you would need to seek out Secret Seeds in Terraria by scouring the internet, but those days are no more. Now, we can look at the dedicated menu for Special Seeds and select the ones you want to try.

We’ll be taking a look at all the Special Seeds and the Secret Seeds you find by entering a code into the seed menu, and giving a quick overview of how to progress through each one!

    A Note on Combinations

Screenshot of Terraria's Special Seed menu, with the Zenith seed selected and the Skyblock seed hovered over.

Before we get started on all these secret seeds, it should be noted that you can create a combination of any number of these seeds. This complicates things, and I don’t exactly have the grit to cover all the 10 million+ combinations you can create when you click on the seed icon in world creation.

It’s not even limited to those, either. You can also add other attributes through the seed menu by typing in the codes for any of the secret seeds. If you want to try these out, most of the tips from the seeds that comprise the combination will apply, just to a lesser scale.

    No Progression Changes

Screenshot of a seed comprised of many secret seeds in Terraria, with the player obtaining a Meowmere Minecart in a Rainbow house.

For a majority of the secret seeds, there is zero meaningful change to progression, just requiring a normal playthrough with a bit of extra thought. That said, I will be giving a tip on each one, in case you need it.

    Seed NameSeed CodeExplaination
No TrapsnotrapsThe only Special Seed I find insignificant enough to put here, this one adds a ton of traps to your world. Be careful, carry pressure plates to reveal wires, and watch out for deceptive golden chests.
Paint Everything GraymonochromeThis paints the entire world gray, which mostly just makes it hard to tell which ores are which.
Paint Everything Negativenegative infinityThis paints the entire world with negative paint, which looks a little terrible but doesn’t have a significant impact.
Coat Everything Echoxray visionThis coats everything with illuminant paint, so you have fullbright on the entire time, which makes mining way easier.
Extra Living Treessave the rainforestThis adds a ton of massive living trees to the world, so have fun with that Finch Staff.
Extra Floating Islandsthe care bears movieDespite the ridiculous code, this has the underwhelming effect of giving you a bunch of extra sky islands.
Graveyard Blood Moon Startnight of the living deadThis is a very temporary inconvenience, starting you on a Blood Moon at night, with a few graveyards around the world. Just burrow underground for 11 minutes, then you’ll be fine.
Surface is in Spacesuch great heightsThis brings the entire surface near space, which makes floating islands easier to get, and makes Moon Lord slightly more annoying.
Rains For a Yearbring a towelThis makes it rain for a year. Not a year in Terraria days, but in real-life days. Luckily, this changes very little about the game.
Bigger Abandoned Housesabandoned manorsThis makes every underground and underworld house huge, which is neat, but barely of note.
Random Spawnhow did i get hereThe code is not only a class ASDFMovie reference, but also a fun way to start a new world, giving you a completely random spawn point. You can just put a bed on the surface, though.
Add Teleportersbeam me upThis dots a few pairs of teleporters around the world, which gives you a chance to get to some new caves very quickly.
No Infectionfish moxThis starts the world with no Crimson or Corruption, so just skip the evil boss and kill the wall with Dynamite, or buy evil seeds from the Dryad in a graveyard.
Surface is MushroomstoadstoolEvery forest biome is now a mushroom biome. Surprisingly, this does not change the difficulty of the game.
Surface is Desertsandy britchesThis converts most biomes into deserts, but that excludes the Snow and Jungle, so things aren’t too different.
Poo Everywheretruck stopThis adds piles of Poo Blocks to the world. Have fun with more fertilizer, I guess.
No Spider CavesarachnophobiaThis removes every spider cave from the world, so Summoners should probably gun for Forbidden Armor in early hardmode.
Actually No Trapsmore traps pleaseThis removes all traps from the game, for those who are weak of will and not strong of heart.
Rainbow Stuffrainbow roadThis makes most structures have some rainbow element or contain a rainbow item, so you can get some color in your life.
Dig Extra Holesjagged rocksEvery part of the surface will generate similarly to a corruption biome, with huge chasms that lead to caves, for easy early-game mining.
Round LandmassesplanetoidsThis generates the entire world as round planetoids with some space in between. They’re pretty densely packed, so you can manage with just a few platforms on hand.
World is Frozenwinter is comingIf you’ve ever wanted a world that is 90% snow biome, this one scratches that itch. It doesn’t change the desert or jungle, so things are business as usual.
Halloween Genpumpkin seasonThis makes your world work like it would in October, with pumpkins generating naturally on the surface, making for decent armor and food.
Endless Halloweenhocus pocusSimilar to the previous one, this makes the world in Halloween constantly, so you can always get Goodie Bags alongside natural pumpkins.
Endless Christmasjingle all the wayThe Christmas equivalent of the previous seed, giving you free presents and gift slimes year-round.
Team Based Spawnsroyale with cheeseThis changes your spawn point depending on your chosen team color, which is fun for multiplayer, but not very different.
Dual Dungeonsdual dungeons(Console Only)Currently, the code for this one is undiscovered on PC, but on console and mobile, you can input this to have all your biomes generate like the Dungeon.

    Not The Bees

Speaking to the Merchant in the Not the Bees seed in Terraria.

As you spawn into Not The Bees, you’ll find the entire world is a jungle. Most of the dirt has been replaced with mud, and most of the stone has been replaced with hive, but you do start with the merchant at your spawn, which is a great thing for a jungle world.

In any world, the Merchant will sell a furnace in the Jungle biome for some reason. This means you do have a way to smelt all the ores you can mine once you brave the caves full of bees, and I’d recommend grabbing some basic wooden tools and heading to the mines to do just that.

Hit trees for fruit, watch out for bees falling from trees, and use those buffs to try and find a Desert or Snow biome. Snow biomes can give you decent weapons like the Snowball Cannon or Frostburn Arrows, and you can grab cactus from the desert for easy early-game armor.

After that detour, you should be able to get back to spawn before night, construct a simple shelter, and use that to make some NPC housing. After a little more very careful mining and a few well-placed arrow shots, you should be able to make some of the Jungle weapons.

The Blade of Grass being used in the Not the Bees seed in Terraria.

Personally, I went with a Blade of Grass, but the Snapthorn is great for summoners, the Boomstick is an awesome ranged option, and the Jungle Armor is great if you’re running a mage build. After this point, your playthrough will more or less be a normal Terraria run, with more bees.

Once you get into Hardmode, the difficulty spike will be far more severe than usual, but if you’ve got three or more NPCs at spawn, enemies will hardly ever bother you at your base. I’d recommend mining or fishing for Titanium and getting your hands on a decent weapon.

Namely, I love the Deadalus Stormbow, the Night’s Edge is still decent despite being from pre-hardmode, the Sanguine or Blade staff are great options, and mages will stay dying just as much as usual, but a crystal storm can somewhat alleviate the pain.

Once you get over the initial difficult spikes, you’ve pretty much overtaken the entirety of what Not the Bees has to offer. Play patiently, get the Demolitionist so you can use copious explosives for hive blocks and crispy honey, and this becomes Terraria with some added tedium.

    Drunk

Image of a player chopping a tree next to a set of Living Trees and a Crimson Biome in the Drunk Seed in Terraria.

Unlike most other secret seeds, the Drunk seed isn’t really making the game more difficult, but rather giving you a more fun experience than usual. The main feature is that it naturally generates with both Evil biomes, instead of only having one and making you make the other yourself.

There are a couple of other changes, with the Party Girl at spawn, and tons of living trees, with one that gives you early Dungeon access without having you get gutted by the evil, intimidating skull. This means my fellow rangers can get pre-boss Necro armor, and mages can score an early waterbolt.

That aside, the progression is largely the same as a regular Terraria playthrough. You should kill the Eater of Worlds and Brain of Cthulu as they both drop unique, great accessories, and things get especially interesting once you get into hard mode.

You can have both Cursed Flames and Ichor if you grind enough for both, and that’s especially great for multiplayer, where each debuff can be assigned to certain players. This one is just fun, especially as an addition to other seeds.

    Celebration Mk. 10

Screenshot of a Menacing Step Stool, found on the Celebration Mk. 10 Seed in Terraria.

Easily my favorite of these secret seeds, the Celebration Mk. 10 seed will paint your world tons of pretty colors, start you off with the Party Girl, Steampunker, and Princess, and it’s a great time. It’s especially fun for the early game, as every item you find in chests will always have the best modifier.

You can grab a Slime Staff from the Princess, or try to kill her for a hardmode magic weapon at the very start of the game, which is just as broken as it sounds. It makes for an easy earlygame, and once you get into hard mode, you should be set up for success.

In the mid to late game, you’ll encounter Jungle Mimics and Golden Slimes that can give you quite a decent boost to your money. Also of note, all of the bosses have been shrunken, so it’s best if you focus on weapons that don’t need to be aimed with any amount of precision.

This is another seed that’s meant to give you a more unique, fun experience than be particularly challenging, so it’s great in combination with other seeds. Just make sure to watch out for tiny Golem, that thing terrifies me.

    The Constant

Screenshot of a player cooking a marshmallow on The Constant seed in Terraria.

God, I wish Dead Cells and Stardew Valley got the amount of love that Don’t Starve Together got with its crossover event. Seething aside, The Constant is a very neat secret seed, putting an ugly sepia filter on the game that demands you put the Radio Thing in your vanity slots.

The biggest changes here are the Hunger and Darkness systems. The darkness is fairly self-explanatory; you get hurt if you’re ever in complete darkness, so always carry torches, a light pet, or a shine potion with you.

Hunger is far more annoying to deal with, unless it’s currently October or December, when food items become really plentiful. The easiest food to get, aside from fruit from trees, is Marshmallows, acquired by putting the Merchant in a Snow Biome, so that should be your first priority.

If you get tired of the rather terrible buff granted by ‘shmallows, fishing to make Sashimi or farming in the Evil biome for Burgers are great options. Either way you go, just make sure you have a Constant supply, or you’ll starve to death, which coincidentally refills your hunger when you respawn.

Build a shelter that’s lit up really well, and keep in mind that Torches now get extinguished in rain, and you’re set up for success. There are a few changes to world generation, and cactus harms you now, but these two main mechanics are the only things that will significantly impact your run.

    For the Worthy

Player dying to a lava pool in a Snow Biome in Terraria's For the Worthy seed.

The first thing you should know about For the Worthy is that the difficulty you select is a lie. It will upgrade your difficulty up a level, so if you choose Classic, it becomes Expert, and if you choose Master, it becomes the exclusive Legendary difficulty, which mostly just buffs the hell out of contact damage.

There will be lava everywhere, trees and pots can drop lit bombs, but you do get quite a bit of extra money, and Red’s sinister potion will give you three random buffs instead of every debuff in the game. It’s hard, but it’s not entirely ridiculous.

Of course, the main event are the bosses, and all of them are different. A majority of them are much larger and therefore much more likely to hit you with their insane contact damage, but the Twins, Golem, and Wall of Flesh are all way smaller, making them far harder to hit.

They also all receive a few behaviour changes that really should have been the default in Master Mode. For example, the Eye is much faster, the Eater of Worlds has adds when you break segments, the Brain flips you upside down, and plenty of others.

Player fighting the Moon Lord in For the Worthy in Terraria, with Moon Boulders flying everywhere.

None of these really change the way you play, though. You should simply be patient, and min-max as much as you’re willing to put up with. Fishing constantly gives you tons of resources for potions, and reforging every accessory to warding helps deal with the contact damage.

The Wall of Flesh summoning Fire Imps is one of the most challenging parts of any of the secret seeds, but this, too, can be mitigated. Make a funnel of two-tile thick ash blocks in Hell, with just enough space in between the top and bottom layer, then have a minecart track run through the middle.

Under this track, place dart traps, and those will constantly hit the imps and prevent them from doing much of anything, making the fight about as easy as usual. The only other big challenge is Golem, but his darkness can be eliminated through the combo of illuminant coating and negative paint.

After that, all you have to deal with is the Moon Lord’s boulder attack, which isn’t hard to dodge by just flying downwards, as long as you have a large world, and keeping a close eye out after the top eye closes. With some patience, this challenge is far more possible than it seems.

    Remix

Screenshot of a home base in Terraria's Don't Dig Up seed.

The Remix or Don’t Dig Up seed is one of the few secret seeds that actually does a good job at making the world generation the main challenge. You start in a far easier version of hell, and trust me, you do not want to be on the surface instead.

Pretty much the entire world is underground now. Everything you could have gotten on the surface is now found in the middle of the world, which includes finding the Angler on either outer third of the world, and that means a ton of mining is in order.

The surface is entirely evil biomes, and it’s night constantly, which means you have a damn good place to farm for Burgers if you’re so inclined. All that said, you should prioritize farming herbs and fishing, then making mining potions and getting a decent pickaxe.

With this, you can carve out a big arena underground, which will make every fight so much more bearable. You can also make a large sky bridge on the surface to block the fallen stars that no longer give you stars, but instead, just kill you.

Screenshot of Hell in Terraria's Don't Dig Up Seed.

You can catch a Prismatic Lacewing underground, and fight the Empress underground for her normal fight, or on the surface where she will become enraged and insta-kill you. I’d recommend making the sky bridge to fight the Moon Lord on the surface, as that fight requires a ton of space.

Aside from having to dig to the pillars, your typical game knowledge still works just fine here. The jungle is still opposite the dungeon, and the shimmer is still on the jungle side, and the snow biome generates alongside the dungeon.

The biggest thing of note is that you cannot obtain the Clentaminator on this seed, so you’ll need to either evil-proof your structures by putting three blocks of an incorruptible block all around it, or just cheat and go to a different world to get a Clentaminator, which I totally didn’t do. Definitely.

Thanks to the new Hell pylon, you actually have a good incentive to build your base in the Underworld, but I went to the surface biome in the middle of the world to build my main base regardless. Once you carve out a hole for yourself, things aren’t too different.

    Zenith

Screenshot of a player using the Zenith in Terraria's Zenith seed.

What was once the ultimate combination of all secret seeds, the Zenith seed or Get Fixed Boi is now just one of many combinations, but it’s the only combo explicitly put in the special seed menu as its own entity.

During world creation, your mouse cursor becomes a smiley face, and you get to use it to deflect the falling stars in the background. The more stars you deflect, the more Life Crystals, Traps, Gem Caves, Chests, and a couple of other things.

Aside from that, though, this seed primarily takes from all previous secret seeds, so all those tips still apply. That said, it does have one unique feature, that being the brand new boss, Mechdusa, summoned using Ocram’s Razor, created by combining all three mech summons.

While this boss is ridiculous, it’s very fun to strategize and figure out how to beat it. I recommend taking out the Destroyer while it’s being nerfed by Skeletron Prime, then the Twins, then Prime. The fight becomes significantly easier as it goes on, so get some good piercing and kill the worm.

Even if you only manage to kill one of the mechs, you still get its loot, so you can make yourself some hallowed gear and get back into it. It’s a far more fair fight than fighting all three mechs is usually, and with a big enough underground arena, it’s very manageable.

    Skyblock

Screenshot of a Terraria Skyblock world, with the player standing on the main island.

The oft requested, rarely played challenge run of Skyblock is something that was around since the addition of Dirt Bombs, but is just now being made official. As one of the few people who did a minimal Skyblock run with nothing other than 25 dirt and a jungle from Temu, this seed is easy.

How do you progress? 90% of the time, the answer is killing slimes. The other 10% of the time, the answer is just fighting every boss in the game. Slimes can give you grass seeds, stone, acorns, and every hardmode ore, and anything else can be acquired from Shimmer.

The Shimmer island is always directly to the left or right of your spawn island, so I recommend making a big dirt bridge, growing grass on it, and getting across the entire world. Alongside this, make a mob farm underground, and wait there for hours.

Screenshot of the Shimmer biome in Terraria Skyblock.

To get each biome, first get water by leaving a bucket out in the rain or shimmering lava buckets, then make mud by crafting two dirt together near water. You can get jungle and mushroom grass from slimes, and these shimmer into each other, so you can spread the jungle grass on a big mud platform.

To get sand for the desert and ocean, extractinate obsidian that you get from mixing water and lava. To get snow, buy Freeze Bombs from the demolitionist, then shimmer down the ice it creates. Progression is very streamlined, and it’s rather obvious where to go next.

The Eye of Cthulu gives you a Demon Altar, the evil boss gives you blocks to build a dungeon, Plantera gives you all the blocks to build a temple. As long as you know how an all bosses run of Terraria typically goes, you’ll know what to do next.

    Invisible Plane

Screenshot of the Invisible World in Terraria.

While the concept of a fully invisible world sounds intimidating on the surface, using the code “invisible plane” has far more bark than bite, and boils down to being a bit annoying more than anything. Smart cursor is your friend here, as it will help you get trees and find where blocks are.

As you descend into a cave, mine the ground until you acquire a Pressure Plate, which will allow you to see wires and traps. From there, your main goal should be acquiring a ton of NPCs, so that the painter can move in.

Namely, you should increase your HP for the nurse, get money for the merchant, bombs for the demolitionist, and a gun for the arms dealer. After you grab a couple of other NPCs, including the Guide and the Old Man, the Painter will move in, and you can finally use the Paint Scraper.

After doing this or after some very blind navigation, you should be able to locate some chests by using your smart cursor. Inside of chests, you can find Spectre Goggles, which negate the entire point of this challenge. Cool.

    No Surface

Screenshot of the No Surface secret seed in Terraria.

“mole people” is one of many secret seeds that is incredibly similar to Don’t Dig Up, besides the fact that the surface and sky islands do not exist, and are replaced with caves. This means making that massive underground arena is going to be even more important than ever.

You also start in the middle of the world, instead of hell, and the biomes are far less similar to their surface counterparts than usual. All that said, the key to this is still getting mining armor and potions, and a good pickaxe, then playing patiently.

Grind out fishing, make your arena massive, and everything will be going swimmingly, if a bit more tedious than usual. At the very least, gathering resources and ores will be far easier than it is in a usual Terraria world.

    I Am Error

Screenshot of the Error world in Terraria.

The corrupted world, accessed by using the seed “i am error“, will make the generation impressively messed up. Just on the surface alone, you’ll find biomes merging, random blocks, trees going into space, and random structures having their blocks swapped out.

This world is fascinating to me, and reminds me a lot of playing the Terraria Randomizer mod with most of the settings on, but far less unhinged. Still, the concept of randomizing everything leading to a far easier playthrough than usual is still there.

The thing is, 80% of the world is still completely normal, so you can play the game more or less completely normally, but there are a few things to take advantage of. Such as, if you see a house made of Demonite Ore, there is nothing stopping you from blowing it up and making tons of bars.

Structures also have zero spawning rules, which means you’ll probably need to look around the whole world for the houses and temple you’ve come to expect. That said, all loot is also random, so try getting a random overpowered drop within minutes of starting and having it carry you to the end.

    Too Easy

Screenshot of a player starting in Hardmode in Terraria, mining a Pearlwood Tree.

One of my favorite challenge runs is now far easier to try, thanks to the one of the secret seeds you get by inputting the code “too easy“. This makes you start in Hardmode, which will only effect the beginning of your playthrough, so I’ll try and give tips to get you to the same power you’d be at when you beat the wall.

The first thing to do is try and make some shelter and NPC houses, as trying to survive on your own will lead to many a death courtesy of wraiths. After this, try and navigate to the Hallowed biome, keeping in mind that this is a sandbox game where you can place blocks to deal with most enemies.

Once you find the Hallow, you can get Pearlwood for a bad set of armor and a really decent bow and sword, then head over to the evil biome. There, you can get bombs, go break an orb, which will always drop a gun on the first one you break, and with a gun in your inventory, the Arms Dealer can spawn.

He will sell you the Shotgun and Silver Bullets, which is more than enough to deal with a majority of enemies. From there, you can fish up a Crystal Serpent or Barnacle Staff, and progress through the prehardmode bosses, or try and skip straight to a mechanical boss by upgrading the shotgun into an Onyx Blaster.

    Purify This

Screenshot of the Dryad's dialogue in Terraria's fully corrupted secret seed.

By using “purify this” you can generate a world that is almost entirely overtaken by the world evil, with the exception of the Jungle, but that will quickly become corrupted as you progress. Luckily, you can still get the Clentaminator, and it even buffs purification powder.

This means your main challenge will be surviving long enough to get those things. For this, I’d recommend starting by making a bunch of platforms and pillaring up as soon as you can, until the background changes to the Forest biome, then build a skybase.

This makes you safe from the evil, so you have a place of respite and your NPCs can’t complain about it. Luckily, you spawn with the Dryad, so you can make some money by mining or making a mob grinder on the surface, then get to purifying things.

I’d recommend choosing a small part of the surface to purify, then digging vertical tunnels every dozen blocks, spreading purification powder in both directions. Make sure to section this off, and you’ve now successfully preserved some purity, and can continue as normal.

    Waterpark

Screenshot of the Corruption in Terraria's Water World seed.

Using the code “waterpark” does more than just add a little bit of water to your world. You get to live in the few pockets of air in a massive ocean that’s flooded the world in some kind of biblical event, but luckily, everyone’s favorite hobby is here to help.

When you spawn in, you’ll likely be met by a couple of Water Chests, which can have very useful loot, such as a diving helmet or flippers. That said, your best way to live here is to fish, and you can get bait by moving the bits of grass you can find.

The reason we want to do this is for the Super Absorbant Sponge, which you get after doing 10 Angler quests. To get the Angler, you’ll have to traverse Water World and get over to the beach, and while you’re there, try and find some flippers if you haven’t already.

Do a bunch of quests, get fishing upgrades, and get a sponge that will somewhat help with clearing out water that is in your way. Once you can make your way to the underworld, you can go Lava Fishing. Get Dry Bombs, then get an infinite supply from the Demolitionist to solve this world entirely.

    Vampirism

Screenshot of the player burning up on the surface of Terraria's vampirism seed.

The coolest of the new secret seeds, entering “what a horrible night to have a curse” spawns you underground, and adds the vampire vanity set and bat transformation to random chests throughout the world. This is because the sun kills you.

You get set on fire for being on the surface during the day, and fire does way more damage in general. That said, the Obsidian Skin potion and Umbrella do negate this, even if they’re annoying to use constantly.

In that way, it’s rather similar to Don’t Dig Up, except you can go out at night and have a perfectly normal experience, and as long as you build a roof over your head and aren’t exposed to the light, you’ll be fine. Just make sure to bring a bunch of walls.

Getting the full vampire vanity and burning up in the sun does give you an achievement, so you should try and make that a goal. Otherwise, pretend this is a mildly more tame version of Don’t Dig Up, where not going to the surface is merely a suggestion.
