One of the highlights of REPLACED is coming back to the railway station after a major mission. The abandoned station serves as a safe haven for the Disposals, marginalized outcasts living outside the walls of Phoenix City, and acts as a hub area that evolves throughout the game. It’s always worth revisiting the whole station every time you return to see all the changes, new dialogue, and of course, fresh quests to undertake.
In Chapter 4, after freeing the Slaves from their cages and battling the Termite gang leader, Uncle Ben, Reach wakes up in the clinic back at the makeshift camp. While they’re certainly having a bad day, this is nothing compared to the old man on his deathbed in the same area. Talk to him to learn more about his last request, and how to solve the flower tent code needed to complete the quest.
Old Man’s Last Request
At the start of Chapter 4 in REPLACED, you’ll wake up in the clinic back in the railway station camp. After a quick chat with Veronica, head to the left and talk to the old man lying down near the doctor’s machine. This quest may not appear if you haven’t assisted the doctor in repairing the machine during your first visit to the railway station.

The old man has decided to give up his life to save another patient in the ward. However, before he passes, he asks that you let him see his wife and daughter one more time. He gives instructions to get them at the flower tent just outside the station.
The journey towards the flower tent is incredibly short. Simply walk out of the clinic, and you’ll immediately find yourself underneath a bridge that was repurposed as a shelter. Look for the green flower tent and interact with it to begin the quest.
REPLACED Flower Tent Code

Interacting with the flower tent in REPLACED will bring up three options: read a note, enter the code, or look around. For now, let’s look around the flower tent. There are three places you can search:
| Action | Description | Date |
| Search the bag | This ring might be marriage memorabilia. | 02/10/1953 |
| Check the books | The Book of Flowers with the inscription “First step to our dream garden!” | 05/18/1955 |
| Open a suitcase | A metal circle with a ship depicted on it | D-Day June 6, 1944 |
After examining all the locations in the old man’s flower tent, Reach comments that you can try to open the code-locked box now. Another option lets you read the note for a clue on how to solve the flower tent code in REPLACED.
Examining the note pinned to the wall of the tent reads “Winter, second half, leap year.” Now we have everything we need to unlock the flower tent code.
- Winter points to February, which comes from the ring dated 02/10/1953.
- Second half refers to the day in the latter half of the month, which leaves you with 18 from 05/18/1955.
- Leap year corresponds to 1944, taken from the D-Day item in the suitcase.
Using the clues for the order gives you 02/18/1944. Enter this date into the flower tent code to unlock the lockbox and receive the key item of the quest.
After taking the Family Photo from the flower tent, you can also read more to know about the tragic background of the old man. To complete the quest, head back to the old man and show him the photo of his family.

Completing this quest rewards you with a Genetic Profile, increasing your health during combat. It’s a small but meaningful upgrade that stacks up, and you’ll need it as REPLACED only gets harder from here on out. More importantly, the quest adds an emotional payoff that Reach needs to witness to learn more about becoming human.
