What Happens if You Give the Pupa to Biologist Bradford?
If you offer the Zyranium Mantisaur Pupa to Biologist Bradford, you’ll receive Cleo’s The Hunt Unique Shotgun, 1500 Bit Cartridges, and gain 1 Reputation with Auntie’s Choice. After giving the Pupa to Biologist Bradford, she’ll talk about how Mantisaurs have mutated, thanks to the Zyranium, and she aims to be the first Biologist to document their mutation. The Pupa offers her a chance at a successful and wealthy career as a Biologist at Fort Endurance.
After that, a Mantisaur horde will attack Fort Endurance, and you’ll have to take care of them. This is the perfect time to try out Cleo’s The Hunt Shotgun that shoots slugs instead of shotgun shells, making it more accurate at longer distances, and very effective against armor.
Before you get the extra rewards from Biologist Bradford, you need to have Speech Level 5 and pick the “You’ll have to do better than simply matching his offer if you want me to choose you” dialogue option when you initially begin the “Pinching the Pupa” side quest with Trooper Wentworth at Fort Endurance.
After you’re done talking to Wentworth, this dialogue option will unlock if you have invested in Speech up to Level 5. Once you’ve given the Pupa to Bradford, the quest will be marked as complete, and you’ll get your rewards in The Outer Worlds 2.
What Happens if You Give the Pupa to Trooper Wentworth?
If you give the Zyranium Mantisaur Pupa to Trooper Trentworth, you’ll receive Cleo’s The Hunt Unique Shotgun, 1500 Bit Cartridges, and gain 1 Reputation with Auntie’s Choice. Unlike Biologist Bradford, Trooper Wentworth wants the Pupa for Chief Executive Wotjek, a senior Mantisaur working at Fort Endurance as a Strategic Ingestment Executive. Wotjek wants to raise the mutated Pupa as his own, and Wentworth wants you to retrieve it for him.
Once you’ve offered the Pupa to Wentworth, he’ll state that the Mantisaur regime can now take shape, and Wotjek will eat the Pupa, revealing that Wentworth’s words were all a lie. After that, a horde of Mantisaurs will attack Ford Endurance, and dealing with them successfully will end the “Pinching the Pupa” quest in The Outer Worlds 2.
Best Choice for Biologist Bradford or Trooper Wentworth?
Give the Zyranium Mantisaur Pupa to Biologist Bradford instead of Trooper Wentworth, since you’ll gain 3 Reputation with Auntie’s Choice instead of just one. Wentworth wants the Pupa to start a Mantisaur regiment, while Bradford wants to do further research with mutated Pupas. Regardless of whatever option you choose, you’ll obtain Cleo’s The Hunt Unique Shotgun.
