In Pragmata, the seafarer Hugh and advanced android Diana venture into the Mass Production Array sector, serving as the second major area of the game. The uncanny facsimile of New York City becomes a hostile maze where the pair has to activate four relays to tear down the blockade that IDUS, the game’s main antagonist, puts up to prevent their progress.
After tearing through the sector and even learning how to break the blue crystals in Pragmata, the unlikely pair removes the blockade and continues onward. However, they’re immediately stopped by a mantis-like Gigantic Bot boss fight. Here’s everything you need to know to beat the Gigantic Bot boss in Pragmata.
Best loadout to beat the Gigantic Bot in Pragmata
After breaking down the blockage in the Mass Production Array, there’s an escape hatch you can use right before the Gigantic Bot boss fight. If you’ve already explored and cleaned out the area, you can take a quick trip back to the shelter to prepare for the boss fight.
The Gigantic Bot boss fight in Pragmata will be fought from a medium to long distance. Aside from staying away from its devastating melee attacks, its weakpoints are also located on its joints.

This was the set of mods that I used specifically for the Gigantic Bot boss fight:
- Overclocked Weaponry – this is one of the most useful ones, making Chargeable weapons charge 30% faster. The arena is littered with the Charge Piercer rifle, and this will be your main tool for taking down the boss. Reducing the charge time helped make it easier to shoot down the weakspots and hit the boss hard during damage phases.
- Next, I take Extended Breach to extend the hack time for a longer damage window, and
- Close Quarter since the Gigantic Bot boss is always trying to close the distance on you.
The last two can be swapped out for more defence if you feel like it, but I highly recommend that you keep the Overclocked Weaponry.
For Hacking Nodes, you’ll want to bring Decode to all boss fights in Pragmata. However, for the Gigantic Bot boss fight it’s not necessary since the arena will be showered with it. Freeze is useful here since it temporarily immobilizes the boss, buying you time to chunk down its health. Make sure to bring this one in with you.
Gigantic Bot boss fight guide
The Gigantic Bot boss has a few strong but telegraphed attacks. Most of these attacks can be evaded by running away or dodging at the right time. The boss also gains new attacks when it reaches low health.

| Boss Attack | Description | Action |
| Swipe | Gigantic Bot pulls its hand close to its chest and swipes at the player. | Jump over the swipe or dodge away. |
| Body Slam | Gigantic Bot raises its hand and slams on the ground, temporarily leaving it stunned. | Use your thrusters to dodge. Bait out this attack as much as possible for a free hit. |
| Laser Wave | Gigantic Bot shoots lasers underneath it and walks towards the player. | Run away or through the boss (dodge the lasers) |
| Car Throw | Throws a car at the player. | This attack has accurate tracking. Get some distance before dodging last second or hide behind cover if available. |
| Data Spike | The boss stands and unleashes a wave of sharp blue energy. | Run all the way back and don’t stop until the attack ends. |
| Laser Annihilation | Gigantic Bot stands up and charges lasers across the whole arena. | Use the zipline on any building and stay there until the attack ends. |
The Gigantic Bot boss fight follows the normal rules of engagement in Pragmata. Hack the boss and make sure to pass by as many hack nodes and blue squares as possible, then fire on its weakspot, which is the blue glowing bit between its “eyes”.
From time to time, the Gigantic Bot boss will use red antennas protruding out of its joints to create a firewall, blocking Diana from hacking. This is where the Charge Rifle comes in handy; use it to break these parts, as it takes too long for the pistol to do its job. After breaking its firewall but before hacking it, find a fresh Charge Rifle so you can deal maximum damage during the opening window.
Additionally, Diana’s Overdrive will bypass its firewall and stun the Gigantic Bot boss. Keep this as a finisher and only use it once the boss reaches low health and begins putting up four firewalls instead of two.

Once you bring the Gigantic Bot’s health down to zero, a cutscene will play where it grabs the pair and begins charging a lethal laser. You’ll have to manually hack the boss while avoiding all the warning nodes on the way to the green button.
Do all of this, and you’ll finally take down the Gigantic Bot boss in Pragmata. This was a fun fight in the game, and worth parking a save file just to experience it again.
