Pragmata – How to Break the Blue Crystals

If you’re keeping your eye out for goodies in Pragmata, you’re bound to run into masses of blue crystals blocking your way.

These growths, failed output from the Cradle’s printer, are in the perfect spots to deny you loot in Chapter 1, but they aren’t invulnerable. Let me show you exactly where you unlock the ability to crush these crystals, and when you should consider backtracking for unlocks you missed!

You can break the blue crystals with the Lim Eraser, which is obtained in the Mass Production Array, the second major area in the game. Found deep within the Mass Production Array, in Sector 2 in Pragmata, the Lim Eraser is a variant of the filament-destroying lasers that Diana can utilize directly.

To find the Lim Eraser, start from the Office Spaces checkpoint and ascend up the two ziplines around the right corner. Proceed down the hall until you arrive on the roof. The fourth beacon that you need to deactivate the central gate should be just in front of you.

Once you’ve defeated the surrounding enemies and deactivated the beacon, the heavy-duty printer will create a pair of bridges to jump across the two buildings.

Descending to the lower bridge will lead Hugh and Diana into the Lim Recycling Facility, an area absolutely packed with bots and traps. Luckily, most of these traps can be used to your advantage, indicated by the yellow warning areas in the environment.

Hack nearby terminals to trigger the traps, devastating any enemy unlucky enough to be caught inside. Descending further into the facility will reward you with more fights, the Decoy Launcher, and eventually, a small terminal with four blue marks.

This terminal holds the Lim Eraser, an upgrade for Diana, which she gratefully chows down on. From here on, Diana can shatter filament masses by holding down LB (or L1/E, based on your input device).

The Mass Production Array is chock full of filament masses for you to utilize the ability on, granting you currency and opening new paths. I’d first recommend returning to the ground floor of the cityscape and opening the path to the Red Door of the area in the southwest.

Otherwise, after you best the gargantuan bot waiting for you beyond the gate, return to the Solar Power Plant to nab the rest of the collectibles. Filament Masses appear as early as the very first checkpoint, so be thorough as you retrace your steps. You’ll be rewarded with extra Pure Lunum, currency, and extra hacking slots for Diana!
