Once you complete the main storyline in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, it unlocks a variety of post-game missions. The last main storyline mission you’ll run into is The Future of Lumiose City. In this mission, you’re given three choices to decide the city’s future after reaching Rank A. But what exactly happens when you pick each option? And how do those choices affect the story? We have answers to all those questions.
Rank A Wish Choices in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Vinnie makes a call stating, “You were promised one wish to be granted if you achieved Rank A. It’s time we took care of that. Please join us on the south side of Centrico Plaza.” You’ll find Jett and Vinnie there, where you’ll be presented with three choices:
- I want us all to battle Pokémon together!
- I want us to live in harmony with Pokémon!
- I want more Pokémon to live in Lumiose!
If you select choice one or two, it will open the Infinite Z-A Royale in the game, where you can continue to have Pokémon battles. But if you select the third option, it leads to a funny response from Vinnie. “I’m afraid adding even MORE into the city at this point would be… problematic,” he says.
Following this cutscene, you’ll be taken back to the Rank A wish selection menu. So overall, you can select the first two options to continue the story, or the last option for a funny cutscene.
When Do The Rank A Wish Choices Get Presented To You?
After reading AZ’s will, you choose one of the three available Rank A wishes, which unlocks the Infinite Z-A Royale, marking the end of the main story. Two of those wishes affect the storyline, while one of them is a funny one that triggers a different cutscene.
This mission starts when you defeat Hyperrogue Ange Floette in the previous mission. You spawn back in your room with a Poké Ball containing AZ’s Lucario and a letter from him. You get a choice to take it or leave it.
After the cutscene for the letter, head down to the lobby to interact with your rival. “I found something while I was sorting through AZ’s stuff,” they declare. It is AZ’s will that grants the ownership of the Hotel to Team MZ. Following this cutscene is where you make your Rank A choice.
Once you select the first two options, the Future of Lumiose City mission will be completed. Vinnie will then upgrade your Rotom Phone and sign you up for the Infinite Z-A Royale. Once completed, you stand a chance to get Mega AZ Floette in the Infinite Z-A Royale mission.
