Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension – Where to Find Alolan Meowth

The Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends Z-A brings several Pokémon that were otherwise missing from the main game. One such Pokémon that I didn’t expect to chase after is the Alolan Meowth. I was ecstatic to finally add this variant to my Pokedex, but little did I know that finding one is completely at the mercy of RNG. Still, I wasn’t about to miss out on it, whether for completion’s sake or just to test it out in battle.

But first, I had to figure out the right way to track it down. After combing through every available Hyperspace Wild Zone, and after a few failed attempts, I could finally find an Alolan Meowth encounter. This feat was not easy, which is exactly why I have put down the best method to find them quickly in Pokémon Legends Z-A.

The only way to find an Alolan Meowth is to check out each Hyperspace Wild Zone to find Dark-type Pokémon. Hyperspace Wild Zones are the new exploration points within the Mega Dimension DLC, and you will spot several of these exclusive Wild Zones randomly around Lumiose City.

While checking them out, find the ones that have a shaded image of Meowth on them. You have to select the Hyperspace Wild Zone that exclusively offers Dark-type Pokémon to find it. Also, it could help change the time and day cycle to increase your chances of encountering an Alolan Meowth.

To enter the Hyperspace Wild Zone, feed the Hoopa a donut created at Ansha’s Donuts in Hotel Z. The type of donut you create will influence the length of your stay within the Hyperspace.

    Catching Alolan Meowth

Alolan Meowths often appear as over Level 100 Pokémon, so owning high-level Pokémon for the fight is recommended. Also, carry Heavy or Luxury Poké Balls to capture Alolan Meowths after reducing their HP. Your first time defeating an Alolan Meowth will register it to your Pokédex, and you can use your Poké Balls to capture it during subsequent fights.
