Outer Worlds 2 – How To Open The Befuddled Fisherman’s House

The Befuddled Fisherman is an NPC in The Outer Worlds 2 found at the southernmost edge of Paradise Island, and his house hides a plethora of goodies, both inside and underneath. To unlock his house, you need to repair the Power Substation first, and only then will his sealed door open. Here’s how you can easily access the Befuddled Fisherman’s House and grab some valuable loot in The Outer Worlds 2.

Repair the Power Substation on Paradise Island

To open the Befuddled Fisherman’s House in The Outer Worlds 2, you need to repair the Power Substation on Paradise Island. To repair the Power Substation, you must have either Engineering Level 3 or the Innovative Trait, or obtain the Substation Repair Kit from the area. You can find this Power Substation at the southern end of Paradise Island.

From the Power Substation repair point, turn left and drop down to find a grate on the body of the Substation. You need to have Sneak Level 2 or have chosen the Nimble Trait beforehand to exploit the grate’s vulnerability.

Head inside the grate to access the Substation’s interior. You’ll find the Substation Repair Kit on the table. Don’t forget to collect all the other loot there. When you’re done picking everything up, head back out the grate, then use the ladder to the roof, where you can enable the power using the Substation Repair Kit.

Activate the Substation to Open the Befuddled Fisherman’s House

The next thing you need to do is activate the Substation in The Outer Worlds 2. Once you enter the Substation, charge the Substation Fuse, then remove it. The Substation Fuse and its charging spot will be located inside the Substation to the right. When you enter the Substation, turn right instantly to find both beside the pair of lockers.

After removing the Charged Substation Fuse, carry it to the empty slot at the second Substation with the unpowered door that’s located opposite to the first Power Substation, which you repaired. Exit the Substation, then head straight, and you’ll find the empty slot and the unpowered door to the right. This will activate the Substation and open the Befuddled Fisherman’s House, located down the hill. Before you head down, collect the Corrosive Shock Machine Gun.

Now, head down to the bottom of the hill to the Befuddled Fisherman’s House. You’ll notice that the door is now open. Head inside the house, and search the rooms to find a Safe with the following rewards:

    • Advanced Decryption Key
    • Explosive Light Revolver
    • Emergency Deflectors

In the same room, you’ll find a hatch that leads to underneath the house. There, you’ll find a Triple Barrel Shotgun inside the crawlspace. That’s all you need to do to open the Befuddled Fisherman’s House in The Outer Worlds 2.
