During “The Midpoint to the Endpoint” quest with Marisol in The Outer Worlds 2, you’ll be faced with a tough decision at the end that impacts your reputation with Auntie’s Choice. The quest is about destroying Anais’ dangerous old research in the Unorthodox Notion Reclusion building at Winter’s Grasp. However, Field Agent Pham will request you to leave some items for retrieval, but Marisol disagrees with the request. Here’s what happens when you pick either of the three options in The Outer Worlds 2.

What Happens if You Pick “Full Burn”?

If you pick “Full Burn” at the end of “The Midpoint to the Endpoint”, Pham will get frustrated, your Auntie’s Choice reputation will be lowered by 3, but Marisol will appreciate your decision. Picking “Full Burn” will incinerate the contents of every evidence room in the building, which leads to a big fight between you and the Auntie’s Choice patrol, including Field Agent Pham herself, in The Outer Worlds 2.

Before you make this meaningful decision, you need to interact with both Marisol and Pham and listen to their sides of the story on why the evidence should/shouldn’t be destroyed. Then, you’ll be presented with three dialogue options, and you need to select “After careful consideration? Nope!”

However, this decision doesn’t affect the consequences at all. The subsequent decision does. Once Marisol states that the burndown initiation has begun, head to the control panel and interact with the lever to the options to either burn all of the evidence, burn nearly all of it, or partially burn it.

If you want to follow through with what Marisol and her old pal Anais originally planned, pick “Full Burn” and incinerate the contents of all evidence rooms. After exiting the building, you’ll face a horde of Auntie’s Choice patrol, all Corporate enemies, gunning to take you out. This route may not be the best option if you’re prioritizing keeping both sides happy and getting all the loot this mission has to offer in The Outer Worlds 2.

What Happens if You Pick “Near Full”?

If you pick “Near Full” at the end of “The Midpoint to the Endpoint”, Pham will be satisfied along with both Marisol and Anais, and your Auntie’s Choice reputation will increase by 2. This decision is arguably the optimal option, since all parties involved in this quest come out satisfied. To pick this option, select the dialogue option, “If your offer stands, we’ll leave you Timewasting Contrivances. The rest, we’re burning.”

Then, repeat the process of Marisol informing you about the burndown initiation, but pick the “Near Full” option when interacting with the lever, which will incinerate the contents of all rooms except Time-Wasting Contrivances. This will increase your Auntie’s Choice reputation by 1. Marisol will warn you that a copy of the evidence exists out there, but both she and Anais will be satisfied with your decision in The Outer Worlds 2.

Next, head downstairs to the lobby to speak to Field Agent Pham, who will thank you for the decision and reward you with 650 Bit Cartridges, and your Auntie’s Choice reputation will increase by 1 again. Anais will bid you and Marisol farewell and give you Marisol’s Mod Kit.

This dialogue will mark “The Midpoint to the Endpoint” quest as complete, and you’ll be awarded 4,455 XP in The Outer Worlds 2. Before you move on, you can ask Marisol a few questions about the situation.

What Happens if You Pick “Partial Burn”?

If you pick “Partial Burn” at the end of “The Midpoint to the Endpoint”, Pham will be highly satisfied, along with both Marisol and Anais being relieved, and your Auntie’s Choice reputation will increase by 6. This option is for players who want to devote their utmost support to the Auntie’s Choice faction. However, this route also bears great rewards.

Select the dialogue option, “We’re here to incinerate material in the Cataclysmic Ends room. All the rest is yours.” Access the control panel for the burndown initiation and pick the “Partial Burn” option to incinerate the contents of only Cataclysmic Ends, while keeping every other room intact. This decision will immediately increase your Auntie’s Choice reputation by 3.

Marisol and Anais will be relieved that the research is destroyed, and Pham will depart to meet you downstairs in the building’s lobby. Although a copy still exists, that’s a quest for another day. Head down to the lobby to find Pham waiting for you.

Speak with her, and she’ll thank you for showing support to the Auntie’s Choice and give you 2,000 Bit Cartridges. This will further increase your Auntie’s Choice reputation by 3. The quest ends in a similar manner, with Anais bidding you and Marisol farewell and giving you Marisol’s Mod Kit. Then, you’ll be awarded 4,455 XP for completing “The Midpoint to the Endpoint” quest in The Outer Worlds 2.

Best Choice: It all boils down to what the player wants to choose. However, if you want to maximize your rewards from this quest, pick the “Partial Burn” option. If you want to keep your sense of morality while keeping all parties happy and still getting decent rewards, pick the “Near Full” option. But, if you despise Auntie’s Choice and want the warring faction to fail, pick “Full Burn” to destroy all evidence and research.

That’s all you need to know about whether you should pick the “Full Burn,” “Near Full,” or “Partial Burn” option during “The Midpoint to the Endpoint” quest in The Outer Worlds 2.
