There are a lot of secrets to unravel while exploring all the areas in Oblivion Remastered. During your exploration, you can uncover some unique gear with better stats, and equipping them can give you an upper edge. While exploring Battlehorn Castle, you can locate several unique weapons and armor, as well as some secret locations. This guide will detail where to find them all in Oblivion Remastered.

Battlehorn Castle is located in The Colovian Highlands, and fans of the original The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion would remember it as Fighter’s Stronghold. Below are what items you can collect during your exploration here.

    Shield of True Horn

Can be collected by fighting off the Marauders found near the castle’s entrance. Just pick it off the ground after defeating them.

    Battlehorn Dwemer Forge

You need to purchase your free home here in Battlehorn Castle first before continuing. After that, enter the castle’s Merchant’s Inn and speak to Nilphas Omellian to start his quest. Purchase all furnishings from him, then wait for a few in-game days. Speak to the Battlehorn Man-At-Arms who will appear at the inn, and he will hand over a note to visit Nilphas and purchase the Battlehorn Dwemer Forge upgrade item from him.

    Secret Room

For this one, make your way inside the castle and head up the stairs. Enter the central room, then enter the second room to the left, which will lead you to the Battlehorn Castle Private Quarters. Head straight down the passage and look to the left of the circular table to find a movable pillar on the right side of the alcove. Activating it will lead you to a secret room, but there isn’t a lot of valuable loot to find here besides a note to find another secret room.

    Lord Kelvyn’s Bulwark

There is a shield to collect if you check out the chest at the foot of the bed within the Battlehorn Castle Private Quarters. After entering the quarters, head right to find the chest and collect Lord Kelvyn’s Bulwark.

Lord Kain’s Shield and Dragonsword of Lainlyn

Head back to the main entrance of the castle and take a look at the wooden door on the left. Enter it and there will be another alcove with another moveable pillar to the right of it. You will find a door that will take you to the Battlehorn Castle Basement.

Just keep following the cellar’s pathway and opening up wooden doors till you come across a secret training area. To the right of it is an archery room, and to the right of the archery board is a candle holder that can be pulled. Enter the grotto, pull the left side pillar near the alcove, then head right to find the skeleton of Lord Kain. Defeating him will drop Lord Kain’s Shield and Dragonsword of Lainlyn.

    Staff of Burden

Within the same room where you had slain Lord Kain, you can also find a ghost called Arielle Jurard. Defeat the ghost to pick up the Staff of Burden, which offers a different enchantment for each playthrough. Don’t forget to loot the Lich Key from its body before diving into the waters below the room. There is a chest underwater that holds random loot, and the loot pool gets randomized per playthrough.

    Sparring Weapons

Go back to the training area and you can talk to Shagrol gro-Uzug. While his back is turned to you, pickpocket the Sparring Dagger, Sparring War Axe, and Sparring Warhammer from him.
