Ghosts of Vitharn is one of the quintessential quests in the Shivering Isles DLC for Oblivion Remastered. The questline has you helping out four ghosts who are unable to move on to their afterlife. If you want to get all the details on how to go about doing that, we have put up this guide to help you out on that.
How To Start The Ghosts Of Vitharn Quest In Oblivion Remastered

You receive the Ghosts of Vitharn quest from the Shivering Isles DLC in your quest log by listening to rumors around the world. One such rumour warns you about the haunted settlement in Vitharn. Alternatively, you can also travel to Vitharn and head to the castle. Once there, you will see the ghosts fighting one another.
There are three ghosts that need your help:
How To Help Desideratus Annius With His Doll

To help Desideratus Annius, retrieve his betrothed doll from the sleeping chambers and put it on an enemy. Here’s how to locate it:
- The first ghost, Desideratus Annius, is located right outside the main chamber with the talking ghosts.
- Annius will tell you that he fled in order to save his “betrothed”, which happens to be… a doll.
- When finding the doll, get back inside the building and look for a bed beside a collapsed rack. The doll is located right above the bed.
- The ghostly doll is to be placed on an enemy or burned to keep Annius in the fight.
- If you choose to place it on an enemy, it must be one of the Invaders chasing him into the castle.
- After the battlefield has reset, you can tell Desideratus Annius about the doll to close this part of the quest.
How To Help Althel Retrieve Her Arrows

You will need to retrieve her arrows to help Althel reach the afterlife. Here’s how you help her:
- Althel is found in a tower and is recognizable by her Elvish features and a bow on her back.
- The arrows are located in the Vitharn Armory, either get the key from a table inside, or lockpick if you have a high enough skill.
- Head to the armory straight past the room where you found the betrothed doll, and you will find Bat Gro-Orkul’s Ghost on the counter.
- The ghost will refuse to give you the arrow, so you will have to steal it.
- Move behind the counter and unlock the door with the key, sneak inside the armory right behind Orkul’s ghost, and steal the arrows.
- Head back to Althel and hand her the arrows to solve her problem.
How To Help Hloval Dreth Regain His Magic

Dreth is stuck against the Invaders without his Magicka, and you will need to get him Welkynd Stones to fight. Here’s how to get it back:
- Right behind him is a trail leading to the Wooden Door to Vitharn’s Mausoleum.
- Enter the door, head down, and you will find the Wellkynd Stone kept on a loft above a chamber.
- Grab the stone and run back to him.
Final Act

After you have done quests for all three ghosts in Vitharn’s Keep, the Ghosts of Vitharn questline will progress, and a dialogue box will open stating that your character needs to see Count Cirion. Talk to Cirion, and he will allow you to take part in the battle of Vitharn.
After the permission is granted, head outside and defeat the Devoted Fanatic. Once it’s done, the game will let you know that the curse of Vitharn has been lifted. As a reward, the ghost of Count Cirion will let you keep his helmet. The helmet grants players +50% resistance to normal weapons, as well as delivering a shield effect. It is a great piece of gear for melee combat.
