With six classes to choose from, Mistfall Hunter gives players plenty of options when it comes to both trios and solo play. When it comes to solos, flexibility and solid fundamentals are king, which is why Withered Knight stands as the best solo class in the game.
Let’s take a look at what makes Withered Knight the best solo class in Mistfall Hunter, as well as the best solo build the class can muster.
Why is Withered Knight the Best Solo Build in Mistfall Hunter?

Withered Knight is the best solo build in Mistfall Hunter thanks to their overwhelming flexibility and easy-to-execute game plan. When forging your way through solo expeditions, you need to know your class can handle as many situations as possible, and while others may be better at kiting or ambushes, the Withered Knight has tools to turn the tide of bad situations and capitalize on good ones.
Starting with their weapons, the Greatsword is a stellar mainhand weapon, with solid speed, damage, and range. Meanwhile, the Polearm and Shield trade upfront damage for wider range and the ability to block on demand.
Once you land three attacks on either weapon, you’ll enter Judgement. Your next basic attack will expend Judgement to apply Wither, a debuff that can be detonated with your heavy attacks for bonus damage. This is a massive source of consistent bonus damage, allowing you to burst down players and duel with monsters far faster than you may expect.

The Withered Knight’s Skills are a massive part of what makes them the best solo class, with on-demand defense, ranged attacks, and gap closers that mean the Withered Knight is never in a bad situation for long. They can even obtain bonus healing when killing enemies afflicted with Wither, making the basic game plan even stronger.
The Best Solo Build for Withered Knight

The best solo build for the Withered Knight makes use of both legendary weapons for the class, prioritizing the Greatsword Mercy over the Rose Proclamation Polearm and Shield if you can only afford one. Inlay a Wrath Burst Moonstone into Mercy for an extra stack of Wrath, as well as bonus damage when executing Wither.
For skills, we’ll be using Parry and Withering Mark on the Greatsword, with Javelin Thrust and Breaker Shield Bash on Polearm and Shield. With this setup, both weapons have an option to gap close against far-off enemies, with Parry allowing you to negate the heaviest blows both players and monsters can muster.
Breaker Shield Bash is a quick, safe cone AOE method of applying Wither immediately, with a guard point to block some damage during casting. Withering Mark, similarly, allows us to apply Wither from a distance, detonating it instead with the Instant Wither Talent.
Upgrading Javelin Thrust in the Talent tree will allow us to manipulate enemy positioning, netting a stun if you can force them into a wall. Alongside Shield Breaker Bash’s slowing Talent, you’ll be able to slow enemies as well, making it extremely easy to execute on a well-started fight.

The best solo build for Withered Knights focuses Talent points into Greatsword: Core Archetype’s left tree, unlocking a Wither heal on kill and spreading extra debuffs to afflicted enemies. Sieze Opportunity will allow us to combo the heavy follow-up double strike after any Greatsword skill, enabling massive combos.
Empower your Parry with the Unstoppable talent so you can’t be interrupted during your counters, and take Javelin: Stun from the Javelin Thrust tree to enable the previously mentioned wall Stuns. Your Talent Points should look like this.
| Talent Points | Talent |
| 1 | Crime under Greatsword Archetype |
| 2 | Bad Karma under Greatsword Archetype |
| 3 | Legacy under Greatsword Archetype |
| 4 | Unstoppable under Parry Enhancement |
| 5 | Javelin: Heavy Kick under Javelin Thrust Enhancement |
| 6 | Javelin: Stun under Javelin Thrust Enhancement |
| 7 | Instant Wither under Withering Mark Enhancement |
| 8 | Seize Opportunity under Martial Arts 2 |
With this setup, we have self-sustain, additional methods to weaken enemies via Wither, the tools to approach and Stun potential attackers, and easy follow-ups to maintain Judgement. This all-around effectiveness and fantastic damage solidify it as the best solo build in my experience, clearing both players and monsters with ease.
What’s Next?

With the best solo build finalized, you can take on the toughest foes the game has to offer, Mist Lords. These difficult foes are the only sources of the pinnacle Holy Weapons, gear that totally change how classes play. As such, they aren’t part of our best solo build for general effectiveness, but are are our endgoal.
