Up until now in your MIO: Memories In Orbit adventure, you’ll have likely faced exclusively agile and speedy bosses. So, when you come up against Calderon, you’ll be in for a whole new challenge.
This boss is a big, bulky, heavy hitter and has a few tricks up his sleeve to make the back end of their fight a real test of skill. But, if you use this guide, you should be able to teach this big bot a lesson.

Where To Find Calderon in MIO: Memories in Orbit

Calderon is located in Metropolis, which means you will need to have beaten both Egis and Crow to gain access to the Hairpin ability, and the Hairpin Energy airborne refill ability.
Once you have this, you’ll want to head to the area marked on the map above. You’ll enter a building near the Halls of History, where you’ll come across a container.
However, when you interact with this, you’ll fall into the battle arena below and the fight will begin. So make sure you’re ready before tampering with it.
How To Prepare

Calderon is a slow and cumbersome boss, which makes avoiding his attacks a little easier than some other enemies. However, he hits hard, so you don’t have room for too many mistakes.
I would suggest that players buy up all the upgrades from Mel’s Workshop, including those that require Old Cores to purchase. Plus, I would suggest locating the first keeper available in the game for a permanent damage buff. The location is marked in our How To Beat Acat guide.
Then, as for your mods, I would highly recommend the Kinetic Thrust Mod, as you’ll have ample time to get loads of three-strike combos in on this boss.
Then, instead of the usual Protective Overlay Mod, I would suggest The Hand’s Greed as a solid alternative, as the back end of this fight is a doozy, and if you’re struggling, this might just get you over the line.
How To Beat Calderon

Calderon’s moveset is pretty basic in all honesty, and with some careful positioning, you should breeze through the first half of this fight. But the issue is that his HP bar is huge, so consistency is key.
Here is the moveset that Calderon is rocking for this fight:
- Two-&-Two: A central attack where the boss will slam four fists. Two central, then the outer fists. Easiest way to avoid is by heading as far left or right as possible.
- Fist Bump: Calderon will start with two fists wide and bring them in to meet for a fist bump. Easiest way to avoid is to stay grounded and time your jump to avoid the contact.
- One-Two: Two fists will glow and hover over the player, set to slam directly downwards on their position. Simply move left or right to avoid this.
- Four Fist Slam: An attack that slams all four fists centrally. Easily avoided by hugging either side of the arena. But be wary of the ice shards that fall from the ceiling after the attack. Line yourself up to sit between the falling debris.
That’s all the moves this boss can throw at you, but things to take a turn about halfway into the fight.
Calderon will turn on the ventilation below your feet, and you’ll need to complete the rest of the fight while floating.

The key to success in this phase is trying to time your attacks for when the air dips you down to meet Calderon’s head.
Also, during this period it’s better to not commit to quite as many full combos, as this will lock you in place for too long and can lead to some inescapable attacks. But, provided you can channel the wind in your favor, you’ll get the win.
Rewards For Defeating Calderon
Players will receive 120 Nacre for defeating this big boy, and will also be able to enter the room to their right.
Here, you will find the Old Fashioned Key. An item that will allow you to access the nearby Halls of History, and by extension, the elevator that will take you to Foundations.
