After defeating Egis, your next boss on the docket is Acat, a boss that will give youmuch more trouble than your initial boss encounter.
Acat is the boss that stands in your way of reach Metropolis, but with your new hairpin power and some careful preparation, you can make this a fair bit easier.
Here is how you take out this agile robot, and the best setup to make this fight a breeze.

Where Is Acat In MIO: Memories in Orbit?

Acat is located in an area just beyond the locked doorway at the top of Dwellings. To access this area and unlock this shortcut for an easy run back, you’ll need to use your Hairpin power to navigate the lower areas of Dwellings that are now accessible.
Shown above is the exact area of the map where you will fight this boss.
Preparing For The Fight

There are actually quite a few things that you can do to make this fight a lot more manageable.
Most importantly, I would urge everyone to go and track down the first Keeper accessible in the game. This is found in the lower area of Dwellings in the area of the map shown below.
Accessing this will give you a permanent buff to your damage output, which will get the fight over and done with much faster.
Alongside this, I would urge players to equip either the Protective Overlay or Kinetic Thrust Mod. The former will grant you an extra hit point, whereas the latter will make your finisher in your combo more powerful.
How To Beat Acat

Acat has a pretty tricky moveset to learn and counter, and you really need to make the most of the space you are afforded in this fight. Here is the moveset for this boss:
- Lunging Attack: Acat slides arcross the floor towards you fast. Easiest way to avoid is jumping over them.
- Airborne Ball Attack: Boss coils into a ball and slams down on your position. Best counter is to remain on the ground and move to the side.
- Slamming Ground Shatter: Acat slams the ground in front of them, creating a earth shattering pulse that moves away from the boss. The best counter is to move away from the boss and hop over the earth-shattering pulse. Or, get behind them before the attack triggers
- Fist Throw: Acat throws their fist as a ranged projectile toward the player. Best counter is to jump straight up to avoid the fist, and also avoid the fist returning.
- Triple Earth Shatter: Only occurs when at 50% health or lower. Acat rises into the air and drops down with force, causing three earth shattering pulses back to back. Best counter is to use Hairpin to get above the boss until the third pulse occurs.
- Double Fist Throw: Similar to standard fist throw, but will teleport to the other side of the arena and throw another. Best counter is to avoid the first, and then use Hairpin to get above the second.
Using these counters you should be able to beat this boss, but I have a few other tips that may help you if you’re still struggling.

The biggest tip, in my opinion, is to try your best to stay away from either side of the arena, as getting caught in a corner can be a real issue against this boss in particular.
Then secondly, don’t rely too much on your Hairpin move. It’s a good thing to use to get out of trouble if you’re in a bad position. But it’s better to try to use double jumps most of the time because being off the ground restricts your movement and makes you vulnerable.
Rewards For Defeating Acat
The reward for beating Acat is gaining access to Metropolis, but depending on whether you have accessed the Bell Tower and Haven yet, you might not be able to do much just yet.
In addition, you will also receive 90x Nacre for beating this boss.
