Limbus Company – Best I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You? Don Quixote Build

Who called for another Middle upscale?! The new Don Quixote EGO, I’ll Go Fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You?, is a cheap, solid addition to any lineup that runs Don Quixote for Envy damage. Another EGO tied to ‘Will You Play?’, Don’s variant directly uses the EGO’s gimmicks, inflicting bonus damage and Power Down under the right conditions.

While I wasn’t too excited by this EGO, it’s a highly functional option that easily slots into one of the strongest lineups currently in Limbus Company. Let me run you through how it works, the best teams for it, and where to run it.

How Does I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You? Work?

I‘ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You? is a Zayin tier Envy Slash EGO Skill. Its base Awakening is a single Unbreakable coin attack with Base Power 12 and Coin Power 12. Meanwhile, its Corrosion is a 3 Unbreakable coin attack with Base Power 4 and Coin Power 4. The EGO costs 5 Envy EGO resources, a price that’s all too easy to pay where it’s run.

Does I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You? – Awakening

To talk about Don’s I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You?, I need to address its various clauses first. Like the battle against ‘Will You Play?’, this EGO utilizes it’s Unbreakable coin to provide unique benefits after the Clash, win or lose.

No matter how the Clash ends, Don heals up to 4 allies for 6% of their max HP, and 5 SP targets the weakest allies first. If she wins the Clash, Don inflicts 1 Power Down on each target, lowering their Final Power. If she loses the Clash, Don instead gains a shield based on Envy Resonance and deals +200% damage.

Funnily enough, when it comes to real damage, setting Don up to fail the Clash can actually work wonders, far beyond what I had expected. Either way, the heal is super nice to have, especially for how cheap it is.

Does I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You? – Corrosion

Now, moving on to the corrosion, Project Moon has maintained the very nice theme we’ve had since Shadow-Vested Bladesinger, where the Awakening and Corrosion have genuinely unique use cases. For I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You? this manifests as extra Power Down debuffs and slightly less damage.

The Corrosion targets randomly, gaining Final Power for every 2 Envy Resonance. On Clash win, the attack gains +100% damage to the main target, meanwhile, on a Clash loss, the Corrosion grants Don a shield and inflicts +1 Power Down on the attack.

On the final coin hit, the Corrosion inflicts 1 Power Down, 2 if she lost the Clash. It also inflicts 6 Bleed. Through these effects, the Corrosion lets Don lower the enemy’s Final Power even further, helping the team tank hits and Clash attacks they’d barely miss otherwise.

Passive – ‘Tis Thy Turn to Swallow the Needle!

Once either form of the EGO is activated, Don gains plenty of effects through her passive. For one, she deals +10% Envy damage for the rest of the fight, bumping up to a maximum of +17% based on the team’s Envy Resonance.

On turn start, Don gains Offense Level Up equal to the amount of damage she’s taken divided by 20, up to 3. When combat starts, if the team has Envy Absolute Resonance, Don inflicts 1 stack of Needle to all enemies or parts.

Needle is a special form of Unique Bleed, applying 1 Bleed Count on Envy hits and reducing the stack by 1. At the end of the turn, the Needle loses 1 stack to inflict 1 Bleed Potency instead.

This Needle effect really helps with the Middle’s Bleed application, a keyword they all use but never really focus on maintaining. Once the EGO is popped, Don will not only deal solid extra damage but also help the team’s Bleed in a big way.

I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You? is an easy slot-in for the Middle, but can be used on any team that needs Envy damage from Don Quixote. Realistically, this means Envy Charge is her only real alternative option, but a solid one regardless, as all of PoH Don’s real damage is Envy.

Between the two, the Middle is by far the better option, both because its generally stronger and thanks to it’s versalitiy with each of I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You?‘s effects.

Clearly the intended lineup for I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You?, the Middle charges the EGO easily, while getting the most benefit from each of its effects.

By lowering Final Power, the Power Down effect minimizes the damage countering members of the Middle will take before swinging. Her Offense Level Up effect also procs off taking damage, including shielded damage.

Simply running each of the Middle IDs, alongside your choice of a 7th that won’t interrupt the chain, is a perfect team. This lineup is among the strongest currently available in Limbus, with either Dimension Shredder Yi Sang or Lamp Gregor standing out as personal favorites.

Limbus Company’s Canto 10 update is rapidly approaching, but we have some more content to look forward to before then. We’ve got time for two more banners before September 17th rolls around, and August 20th will introduce all-new daily log-in rewards and a new Reflectrial.

If you want to make sure you’re as prepped as can be, check out our news discussion on the most recent Limbus Company patch, as well as our guides on both available Refraction Railways. You’ll need all the resources you can have if the rumor of the Tigerslayer returning is true.
