Paradise Island in The Outer Worlds 2 is the first biome you’ll unlock, which is home to a ton of main quests, side quests, as well as collectibles. One such side quest is repairing the Power Substation that’s located at the southernmost part. To repair the Substation, you need to either have the required attributes, or obtain a specific Kit. Here’s how you can easily repair the Power Substation on Paradise Island in The Outer Worlds 2.

To repair the Power Substation on Paradise Island in The Outer Worlds 2, you need to have Engineering Level 3, the Innovative Trait, or obtain the Substation Repair Kit. If you already have Engineering Level 3, or have chosen the Innovative Trait, you can repair the Power Substation instantly. However, if you do not have either, you need to get the Substation Repair Kit.

From the Power Substation, turn left and jump down to find a grate on the body of the Substation. To exploit its vulnerability and enter through the grate, you need either Sneak Level 2 or have chosen the Nimble Trait beforehand. We’d recommend leveling up your Sneak to access the grate easily.

Head inside the grate to enter into the Substation. There, you’ll find the Substation Repair Kit on the table. There will be more loot inside the room, so make sure to collect them all. Once you’re done picking everything up, head back out the grate, then use the ladder to the roof, where you can enable the power using the Substation Repair Kit.

Once you’ve enabled power using the Substation Repair Kit at the Power Substation in Paradise Island, enter the station, charge the Substation Fuse, then remove the Fuse. Both the Substation Fuse charging spot, and the Fuse itself will be located inside the Substation to the right. When you enter the Substation, turn right instantly to find both beside the pair of lockers.

After removing the Charged Substation Fuse, carry it to the empty slot at the second Substation with the unpowered door, that’s located opposite to the first Power Substation, which you repaired. Exit the Substation, then head straight and you’ll find the empty slot and the unpowered door to the right. Insert the Charged Substation Fuse to get access to second Substation, and you’ll find the Corrosive Shock Machine Gun inside on a table.

The Corrosive Shock Machine Gun is an incredibly early-game weapon in The Outer Worlds 2, with it being most effective against enemies with armor. So, make sure to repair the Power Substation when you set foot in Paradise Island to have a strong weapon early on. Repairing the Power Substation will also unlock the Befuddled Fisherman’s house at the bottom of the hill, where you’ll obtain more free goodies.

That’s all you need to know about repairing the Power Substation on Paradise Island in The Outer Worlds 2. For more extensive guides on the RPG, check out the ones on All Damage Types & Status Effects and Save The Hostages Puzzle Solution.
