If you enjoy point-and-click RPGs, then Brighter Shores is right up your alley. Brighter Shores might seem like a calm, atmospheric game, but there is a lot going on here that will keep you engaged for hours. There are tons of gaming mechanics to learn about as you keep playing the game, and tons of professions you can pick up. With each profession, you need to learn how to level them up, which in turn will give you something called Knowledge Points.
This is an important aspect of Brighter Shores, and accumulating enough Knowledge Points can help you work your way through the many professions the game has to offer. In this guide we have detailed out how to get and use Knowledge Points in Brighter Shores.
How To Get Knowledge Points In Brighter Shores
You automatically gain Knowledge Points each time you work on your professions and fill up the Knowledge Points bar. There are 21 discovered professions in Brighter Shores, and probably more as you progress through the Episodes. As you unlock and use these professions, you gain XP for it and, ultimately, fill up the Knowledge Points bar. You level up your professions by playing the game and completing the main story quests.
To check how much Knowledge Points you have gathered, you can click on your Professions tab on the top right corner of your screen. On the new menu, you will find all your unlocked Professions and their proficiency level. Just below this menu is the Knowledge Points bar that gets filled up each time you use these Professions. After filling it up to 100%, you get 1 Knowledge Point, and you can use it to claim a reward.
How To Use Knowledge Points In Brighter Shores
Once you gain a Knowledge Point, click on the Rewards button to know what you can spend this point on. There are a lot of available options like unlocking passive activities for your preferred profession, or converting your Knowledge Points into XP or Silver. The higher you level up your profession, the more Knowledge Points it will require to upgrade to get a passive skill. With passives unlocked, you can farm XP even if you are not actively using the profession.
In our experience, it is best to convert Knowledge Points for overall XP. That way, this XP gets added to any profession that is level 20 and above, making it easier to grind through that particular profession and increasing your character’s stats. Indulging in Passives is the next best thing, but it is not recommended while grinding during early game. Upgrading a profession to include passives won’t give you a lot of XP, so you are better off claiming XP by converting your Knowledge Points.
As for claiming Silver using Knowledge Points, this is the least recommended option. There are other ways to farm Silver and Copper, and our money making guide in Brighter Shores covers all the tips and tricks for that.
