Limbus Company – Best LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang Build

With the Nursefathers all accounted for and our season winding down, it’s time for some simpler Identities. Now, simple doesn’t mean bad; after all, brevity is the soul of wit. LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang seems to be Project Moon’s attempt to stick to this motto.

After an entire season of team-defining monsters, a fairly basic DPS is downright refreshing! Let’s go over the best LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang Build, his teams, and where he thrives!

Is LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang Worth Pulling?

Usually, when an ID releases alongside a new piece of content like this recent railway, they’re set up to thrive in it. Think of Ricardocliff back when Reflectrials first dropped, or how Im Gyeong-Eop was particularly weak to the Blade Linage.

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang is a welcome reprieve from this design philosophy, simply a decent ID added to a team who desperately needed it, Charge. This means that, unless you’re insistent on running a Charge lineup or want to experiment in Rupture, there’s no real reason to pull for Yi Sang immediately.

Instead, consider waiting until the 29th, when he’ll be extractable for Ego Shards! Now, let’s go over LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang’s kit!

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang’s Full Kit

As a Charge/Rupture hybrid unit, LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang is all about getting the ball rolling as fast as possible. While ramping up is the name of the game for all units in Limbus Company, this combination makes Yi Sang uniquely susceptible to slow starts.

He’s come with plenty of ways to speed that process up though, just take a look!

    Passive – Open Alley

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang's first passive
    Image via TheGameSlayer/Project Moon

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang gains 1 Charge Potency whenever he spends 10 Charge Count in a fight.

When an ally’s Skill hits an enemy, LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang consumes 1 stack of Dimensional Castaway to use his Skill 1, “Dimensional Slice” against said enemy. Whenever he does this, Yi Sang gains 1 stack of Quadricolor Dimensions.

Dimension Castaway and Quadricolor Dimensions are LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang’s two unique buffs.

Dimension Castaway can stack up to three times and gives Yi Sang a shield based on the number of stacks before he gets hit. LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang gains Dimensional Castaway by using his Skill 3, Skill 3-2, and his Defensive Skill.

Quadricolor Dimensions can stack up to four times, granting him compounding effects for each stack. Should LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang gain more than 4 Quadricolor Dimensions in a turn, he gains the surplus next turn. Yi Sang loses 1 stack every turn end.

At 1+ Stack…Yi Sang gains 1 Offense Level
At 2+ Stacks…Yi Sang gains 2 Defense Level
At 3+ Stacks…Yi Sang gains 1 extra Charge Count from his Skills
At 4+ Stacks…Yi Sang deals extra damage based on his Charge Potency, up to 20%.

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang gains Quadricolor Dimensions when he uses his Skill 3, Skill 3-2, his Defensive Skill, and whenever he uses a stack of Dimension Castaway to cast “Dimensional Slice”.

    Passive – VelocityAndCoordiantesAndVelocity

I’ve always enjoyed how some of Yi Sang’s passives are written without spaces, as if he’s eager to convey their effects. Very charming and in character.

Once LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang and the team have gathered 4 Envy EGO Resources, this passive activates. If Yi Sang is faster than his target, he deals extra damage based on the speed difference and his Charge Potency.

On turn end, LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang gains Haste based on his Charge Potency/2, up to 2.

    Support Passive – LetManOutrunEvenTheRayOfLight

Once the team has gathered 3 Envy EGO Resources and LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang is off the field, this effect activates. Whenever the fastest ally uses a Skill that gains or consumes Charge Count, they gain 1 Haste next turn.

    Skill 1 – Dimensional Slice

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang's Skill 1

“Dimensional Slice” is a 1-coin Pride Slash Skill with Coin Power 7 and Base Power 6. On use, the Skill gains Final Power for every 6(Charge Count on self+Rupture/Dimensional Rift on target), up to three. Additionally, Yi Sang consumes 2 Charge Count to gain Coin Power +1.

On hit, Yi Sang gains +6 Charge Count (once per Skill), inflicts 2 Rupture, and consumes 1 Dimensional Castaway to reuse the coin.

A quick aside, this ID interacts with and inflicts Dimensional Rift, a debuff previously only seen on the Dimension Shredder EGOs. Dimensional Rift inflicts Rupture Count on the affected enemy at the end of the turn before fading. This replaces the typical Rupture Count an ID like Yi Sang would have, but his output of it makes him Rupture Neutral at worst. A massive boon!

Skill 2 – Consecutive Dimensional Slice

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang's Skill 2

“Consecutive Dimensional Slice” is a 2-coin Gluttony Slash Skill with Coin Power 6 and Base Power 4. On use, the Skill gains Final Power for every 6(Charge Count on self+Rupture/Dimensional Rift on target), up to three. Yi Sang consumes 5 Charge Count to give it Final Power +2, and gains +1 Coin Power when at 3 or more Charge Potency.

On hit, the first coin grants Yi Sang +6 Charge Count and inflicts 1 Rupture on the enemy. The second coin inflicts 2 Rupture and 1 Dimensional Rift, and deals bonus Slash Damage equal to Yi Sang’s Charge Potency.

    Skill 3 – Rip Space

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang's Skill 3
    Image via TheGameSlayer/Project Moon

“Rip Space” is a 3-coin Envy Slash Skill with Coin Power 4 and Base Power 5. Before if goes off, if Yi Sang has 15 or more Charge Count, he instead activates his Skill 3-2, “Four-Dimensional Refraction Time Series Severance”.

When between 7~14 Charge Count, Yi Sang consumes all his Charge Count and gains Coin Power for every 7 Charge Count consumed. On use, the Skill gains Final Power for every 6(Charge Count on self+Rupture/Dimensional Rift on target), up to 4. When used, Yi Sang gains 1 stack of Dimensional Castaway and 1 Quadricolor Dimensions.

The first coin and the second coin grant 1 Charge Count and inflict 1 Rupture. The third coin inflicts 1 Rupture, 2 Dimensional Rift, and deals extra Slash damage based on Yi Sang’s Charge Point.

Skill 3-2 – Four-Dimensional Refraction Time Series Severance

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang's Skill 3-2
    Image via TheGameSlayer/Project Moon

Talk about a mouthful of a title! “Four-Dimensional Refraction Time Series Severance” is a 3-coin Envy Slash Skill with Coin Power 3, Base Power 5, and 4 Attack Weight. The Skill is an Unfocused Volley, meaning that each coin will randomly attack an enemy within its Attack Weight.

On use, the Skill gains Final Power for every 6(Charge Count on self+Rupture/Dimensional Rift on target), up to 3. When used, Yi Sang gains 1 stack of Dimensional Castaway and 1 Quadricolor Dimensions. Yi Sang consumes 15 Charge Count to gain Final Power +1 and Coin Power +2.

The first three coins grant Yi Sang 1 Quadricolor Dimensions each, inflict 1 Rupture, and deal 5% bonus Slash damage. The final coin grants Yi Sang +1 Charge Count, inflicts 2 Rupture, 2 Dimensional Rift, and deals 5% bonus Slash damage. At 5 or more Charge Potency, the final coin is reused once.

    Defensive Skill – Sidestep

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang's Defensive Skill
    Image via TheGameSlayer/Project Moon

“Sidestep” is a single-coin Envy evade with Coin Power 10 and Base Power 4. “Sidestep” being an Envy evade gives LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang plenty of flexibility, and that’s before even reading it’s effects.

When combat begins with “Sidestep” equipped, LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang gains Charge Barrier equal to his Charge Potency. Additionally, LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang gains 1 Dimensional Castaway and 1 Quadricolor Dimensions. At 3 or more Charge Potency, Yi Sang gains 1 additional stack of both buff.

When slotted, at less than 7 Charge Count, Yi Sang consumes a chunk of his HP to gain up to 7 Charge Count. This effect cannot kill Yi Sang. At more than 15 Charge Count, Yi Sang consumes up to 10 Charge Count to heal based on the Charge consumed and gains Haste.

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang Team Comps and Builds

LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang is a fun sidegrade to W Corp Yi Sang, a powerful Charge/Rupture ID that’s been a Rupture mainstay for ages. LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang’s focus on Charge makes him a different enough to thrive on certain teams and slip behind in others.

    Generalist Charge

The best Charge team for LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang
    Image via TheGameSlayer/Project Moon

This team focuses on the best of Charge, a team that until recently hasn’t seen too much love. LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang slots well into the team, dealing mountains of damage on competition with the Ring Nursefather when properly prepped.

The main lineup runs LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang, the House of Spiders Ring duo, AEDD Gregor, Knight of Despair Rodion, Princess of Hate Don Quixote, and W Corp Heathcliff. Yi Sang gets supported by AEDD Gregor, keeping him juiced and expediting his Charge gains.

This way, Yi Sang can deal as much damage as possible as often as possible. His incredible consistency and solid damage make him a great new addition to the team. The only hope is that Project Moon stops leaving both it and Rupture out to dry.

    Envy Res Middle/Charge

An Envy team for LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang
    Image via TheGameSlayer/Project Moon

Envy has always been Charge’s primary Sin, but they haven’t been the strongest users of it for a while. This team sees LCE EGO: Dimension Shredder Yi Sang run alongside the Middle. With his Envy evade, Yi Sang avoids interrupting the Envy Res chain, while throwing out powerful Skill 3s whenever they’re ready.

This strategy really thrives in Mirror Dungeon, where you can replace Yi Sang’s other skills with more of his Skill 3. The Sin Resonance will maximize Yi Sang’s damage on Clash Power, while the rest of the team empowers him through their own Envy buffs.

While his keywords go unused, this team really highlights how important Sins can be for an ID’s usability. This team is a personal favorite for the Line 2 Bokgak, acting as a solid seventh for the Middle as their draw aggro.
