Di-hydrogen is an essential crafting item in No Man’s Sky. In late game, when you’re making expeditions with your starships and frigates, you’ll need it to craft fuel. But traveling all over the vast nothingness in No Man’s Sky in search of this material isn’t really the best idea. No matter the planet you end up in, you’ll have a hard time acquiring it in clumps.

So, how do you get your hands on Di-Hydrogen in No Man’s Sky? Let’s jump in.

Where To Get Di-Hydrogen In No Man’s Sky

The best way to get Di-Hydrogen in No Man’s Sky is to buy Di-Hydrogen Jelly at a Space Station and later refine it to get Di-Hydrogen. There’s even an exploit that you can use to get Di-Hydrogen completely for free, but more on that later.

In No Man’s Sky, there are three methods of acquiring Di-Hydrogen:

    • Travel to a planet and mine blue crystal minerals using an Advanced Mining Laser
    • Drops as a secondary element when mining minerals.
    • Refine it from Di-Hydrogen Jelly using a Refiner.

The problem with farming Di-Hydrogen from minerals is that it’s pretty hard to come by. Although the blue crystal minerals can be found on any planet, scavenging them takes a lot of time.

The best way to acquire the item is to travel to any Galactic Trade Terminals controlled by pirates and buy the Di-Hydrogen jelly. A single Di-Hydrogen Jelly costs 200 units, so it’s not that expensive.

To refine Di-Hydrogen from Di-Hydrogen Jelly, you’ll first need a Refiner. Open up the Refiner from your inventory and process the Di-Hydrogen Jelly. It’s as simple as that.

Each unit of Di-Hydrogen Jelly gives you 40 Di-Hydrogen. So if you process 10 Di-Hydrogen Jelly, you’ll get 400 Di-Hydrogen in no time.

Exploit To Get Di-Hydrogen For Free

As we said earlier, players can use a simple trick to refine Di-Hydrogen for free. You’ll need at least 30 Di-Hydrogen and a Refiner for this trick.

Open your Refiner and process 30 Di-Hydrogen to get a single unit of Di-Hydrogen Jelly. Don’t craft directly from your inventory, as it will cost 40 Di-Hydrogen to make it.

Now that you have a Di-Hydrogen Jelly, open the Refiner again and process it to convert it to 40 Di-Hydrogen. Again, process 30 Di-Hydrogen to get one Di-Hydrogen Jelly. Convert it back into Di-Hydrogen.

Every time you use this exploit, you will get ten free Di-Hydrogen. One thing to note is that refining Di-Hydrogen to produce Di-Hydrogen Jelly takes one minute, so it’s a very slow and tedious process.

And there you have it. With the methods we mentioned above, you should be able to obtain all the Di-Hydrogen you’ll ever need in No Man’s Sky. Do check out our other guides on the game, such as How to Find Curious Deposits and How to Get Convergence Cube.
