In Where Winds Meet, character customization plays a major role in personalizing your appearance. The game does offer several customization options for character features and outfits. You could also unlock dying to give your character a unique twist that sets them apart. This guide will explain all there is to know about changing appearance in Where Winds Meet.

Yes, it is possible to change hair color later in the game, but you will require either the Inkshade Hairdye or the Timeless Hairdye items to dye hair. Beard and eyebrow color can be changed anytime in the character customization menu, but for dying hair, you will require the above specific items. Below are the ways to get the Inkshade Hairdye and the Timeless Hairdye, and what they do.

    Inkshade Hairdye

The Inkshade Hairdye requires 5x Essence of Earth to purchase it from the Essence of Earth store. You could also participate in the Drawing system or check out the other stores to exchange them for the required tokens to get the Inkshade Hairdye randomly. Using this type of hair dye allows you to color your character’s hair in basic colors.

    Timeless Hairdye

Obtaining the Timeless Hairdye requires you to spend Harmonic Core at the Workshop to purchase the Hairdye Giftbox. Unlocking the giftbox offers a stack of 5x Timeless Hairdye items. Also, participating in the Drawing system and checking out other stores also has a chance to give you Timeless Hairdye. Using this type of hair dye will help color your character’s hair in unusual and bold colors.

Head over to the in-game menu and navigate to Appearance. Under this, select the Workshop tab, then go through the list of hairstyles. Not all hairstyles offer the option to dye them. While going through the list, keep an eye out for a multicolored icon located at the bottom-right corner of the image. These hairstyles offer the option to color them, so you get to pick those.

Once selected, pick a dye type between Basic (Inkshade Hairdye) or Advanced (Timeless Hairdye). You will get a slew of options on what type and color you wish to apply. The customization options you get here include highlighting, gradients, and whole hair color. After making a selection, click on the Save button to keep this hair color on your character for the rest of the game.

    How To Change Facial Appearance

Changing appearance will happen while going through the main story quest called Still Shore. At some point, you will meet Yao Yaoyao at the Evercare Clinic, and she will unlock the clinic’s second floor for you. While going through it, you will drop down to an underground passage. The underground area is filled with enemies called The Faceless Ones, and you will also find traps in the form of pressure plates that will deal damage if you step on them.

Follow through the quest till you have picked up the Nameless Jade Flute and an Old Music Score. Eventually, you will come face-to-face with the dungeon’s boss, the Heartseeker. Upon defeating her, you will be transported back to the Treasure Room of the Faceless One’s leader, who is known as Cheng Xin. Hand over the flute to him, and he will give you the option to change your look.

    How to Recustomize Appearance

An easier way to recustomize characters would be to head over to the main menu, select the Appearance option, then select the Customization option found at the bottom. This will bring you to the character customization menu, where you get to change your appearance anytime. If this doesn’t work for you, then you need to find Cheng Xin again to get the option.

To find him post quest, if you had unlocked the teleportation portal at the Treasure Room, then you would quickly find him. If not, head back to Evercare Clinic near western Qinghe and drop down the well again to get to the underground section to find Cheng Xin. Don’t forget to activate the teleportation portal this time around, so you can get back here anytime.

Subsequent re-customizations, either through Cheng Xin or through the Customization menu, will require Water Lady Scripts. These are purchased from the Jianghu Treasure Shop for a small price.

What Character Features Can Be Changed?

Except your gender, you are allowed to change every facial feature of your character. If you haven’t ventured too far into the questline, then the only options you get to customize for free are facial hair, hairstyle, eye color, and makeup color.
