How to Prepare for the Whiteclad Noble Boss Fight in Black Myth Wukong
The Whiteclad Noble is a boss fight that will take you by surprise with how difficult it can be compared to previous boss fights. This is why you will need to make sure you are prepared to take on this challenging duel, here is everything you need to do before attempting to fight Whiteclad Noble in Black Myth Wukong.
Unlock and Use the Correct Stance
Using the correct stance against certain bosses is part of the gameplay mechanic in Black Myth: Wukong and the Pillar Stance is the way to go for defeating Whiteclad Noble. This is because the majority of attacks Whiteclad Noble does are ground-based attacks and the Pillar stance will allow you to get on top of your staff thereby making those ground attacks deal no damage to you.
Alternatively, if you are confident enough to dodge those ground attacks, you can also use the Smash Stance. This stance will allow you to charge your heavy attack while moving which will come in handy when you are trying to close the distance to him and allow you to charge your heavy attack during that time.
Upgrade your Gourd
Your Gourd helps you stay in the fight by providing you with heals but if you happen to find the Shen Monkey along the way to the Whiteclad Noble boss fight and help them out, you can unlock the ability to upgrade the capacity of your Gourd.
To find the material required to upgrade the Gourd capacity, head to the left side of the Marsh of White Mist and you will discover some Luojia Fragrant Vines. Bring this back to the Shen Monkey and you will be able to craft the first Gourd upgrade.
How to Defeat Whiteclad Noble in Black Myth Wukong
Now that we have thoroughly prepared for the boss fight, let’s look at how you can defeat Whiteclad Noble in Black Myth Wukong.
Phase 1 Strategy
- Always be ready for Whiteclad Noble to strike you from any direction. Since he can rapidly change his location around the arena, it can be tough if you are not ready to dodge these attacks in time. Always be aware of his changing positions so that you know where the next strike is going to land.
- Open the fight by immediately using your Immobilize spell and then use all your powerful attacks including any Spirits you can use like the Wandering Wight or the Red Tides Transformation spell which allows you to deal Scorch Bane by turning into a Wolf Guai. You need to use these right off the bat as there is no point holding onto them, instead you should use them and put them on cooldown so you can use them again later.
- As mentioned earlier, you can use the Heavy attack with the Pillar Stance to get on top of your Staff to avoid getting hit by all swing and sweep attacks that Whiteclad Noble does in Black Myth: Wukong.
- Due to how random the number of attacks can be in one go, you will really need to learn and understand when the Whiteclad Noble has stopped attacking which is your only window to do some damage. Your best bet is to get a few hits in and get back to safety whenever you get those openings between the random combo of attacks.
Phase 2 Strategy
- Whiteclad Noble will usually open this phase with a unique attack that throws two projectiles at you and follows up with a rush attack. The projectiles can be avoided by simply walking in opposite directions so don’t bother wasting your stamina on that but the follow-up rush attack will need precise timing to dodge.
- While there won’t be too much of a difference in his attacks, The White Clad noble will now do AoE damage and also have longer reach with its attacks which will require some adjustments to your dodge timing from phase 1. I found myself always dodging too early so make sure your timing is right.
- During phase 2, Whiteclad Noble can go into the water and come out in another place which can surprise you. Whenever he dives into the water, make sure you are ready for the surprise attack as this attack can deal quite a lot of damage if you get hit by it.
- You need to apply everything you learned in phase 1 but also try to stay at a safe distance from the AoE attacks and be mindful of the delayed attacks that the Whiteclad Noble does in this phase. He will also have some ranged attacks that you will need to dodge during this phase.
