The OMV Dijiang is your home base throughout Arknights Endfield, which sadly has gone through a state of disrepair during the Endministrator’s absence. With them back, it’s time to kick R&D back into high gear!
Upgrading Dijiang can simplify a lot of Endfield’s grind, setting up consistent points for materials, EXP, and other sought-after resources. To start, keep an eye on the Baker Tasks menu. Once you get a message from Xaihi about upgrading the Dijiang, the first quest will unlock!

Leveling the Control Nexus

The Control Nexus is found at the head of the Dijiang, and it acts as the upgrade station for the whole ship. Upgrading the Dijiang requires extremely rare materials, including Algorithm Expansion Chips. These Chips can only be earned through this opening quest, and story missions, effectively gating ship progress.
Alongside Algorithm Expansion Chips, the Control Nexus will require T-Creds and increasing tiers of Aerospace materials. These materials can only be found in various Recycling Stations across Talos-II, which only refresh with these materials every 24 hours.
| Required Resources | Level 2 | Level 3 | Level 4 | Level 5 |
| Algorithm Expansion Chips | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| Aeropsace Materials Tier 1 | 8 | 16 | 24 | 64 |
| Aerospace Materials Tier 2 | 0 | 0 | 12 | 32 |

As such, upgrading the Control Nexus is very time gated, but knowing to look out for these little owls and snag their offerings whenever they’re off cooldown softens the wait.
You can further expedite the grind by upgrading your Recycling Stations. Each has a separate level, requiring a sum of each areas’ Stock Bills, a currency amassed by selling resources to outposts and assisting in their development.
Every Outpost has a limited amount of currency to trade with, refreshed after a real-world cooldown. Once you have a solid supply of refined resources, dump your excess at outposts to gather Stock Bills and upgrade your Recycling Stations.
Why Upgrade the Dijiang?

Upgrading the Dijiang improves basically every function the ship has, while also unlocking new ones. The very first upgrade unlocks Growth Chambers, allowing players to grow different plant materials they would otherwise have to rely on individual gathering spots for.
This upgrade alone does wonders to speed up the grind, but other facilities do even more to expedite the waiting game. Control Nexus upgrades also increase the number of Assignment slots cabins have, and those cabins’ level caps.
Despite the heavy progression gating in place, ensuring you’re gathering the materials whenever you can will boost your early game progression exponentially, allowing you to focus on the engaging aspects of Endfield’s gameplay loop over waiting.
Completing the process will also tie into other mechanics, improving your Regional Development Levels, Outposts, and more. Just make sure to loop around activities based on your dailies, and you should be right as rain.
