High on Life 2 –  Side with Apples or Denounce Him Choice Guide

High On Life 2 has a bunch of intriguing characters to meet up with, and Apples is the first friendly NPC you’ll meet during your stay in Prismeria. While attempting to track down and assassinate finance bro James Stevenson, Apples will help you make it across to the town, wherein you’ll be presented with a choice.

You’ll have to either side with Apples against the townsfolk, or denounce him as your friend, breaking his heart in the process. If you’re curious as to what side to choose, you’ve come to the right place.

    Leading Up To The Choice

You’ll come across this choice once you reach the town gate leading to the Blue Wizard’s castle. After a brief chat with Apples (who will coincidentally mention that they are not wanted here) you will be presented with four dialog options.

A few guards will appear at the gates, and give you an ultimatum. You will have to choose between them or Apples.

    Denouncing Apples

With the exception of Creature, all other options lead to denouncing Apples in front of the townsfolk. Apples will walk away disappointed, but atleast you’ll gain access to the town.

    Siding With Apples

If you choose to defend him, Creature will show up for support, and you will be reprimanded by the townsfolk. Turns out Apples is not really a good guy after all, and has done unspeakable things that are too intense for the game’s age rating (although the game never explicitly says what he did).

When asked to confess his crime, Apples will simply walk away and the townsfolk will invite you in, since you really aren’t associated with Apples all that well. From here, you’ll be able to head out to kill finance wiz James Stevenson.

You’ll be able to walk through the gates regardless of what you do, but your choices do have an impact during the finale.

Massive spoilers will follow through, so be careful!

Your choices do have a say in the ending of High On Life 2, atleast to some extent. During the courtroom hearing, Rhea Pharma will bring about Apples as a witness. Apples is not liked by the court, and you will be asked whether you consider them as a personal friend.

Depending on what you chose earlier, Apples will either speak of your friendship or your betrayal. Either way, the judge won’t pick your side and award two points to Rhea Pharmaceuticals. Although, it was cool to see the game remember some of the things that happened.
