High On Life 2 has a variety of challenges to go through, and one of the less than obvious puzzles involves finding James Stevenson, finance bro wizard and the one funding Rhea Pharmaceuticals’ dastardly plan.
James Stevenson appears to be some kind of recluse though, with him being entirely missing after you break into his house (after a rather long platforming segment). He’s still there though, and you’ll have to unlock the path forward by solving portal based puzzles.
Finding James Stevenson
Being the trend chaser he is, Steveson has quite a luxurious home, which takes a while to get to. After breaking and entering, it turns out all efforts were for nought, as Stevenson appears to be nowhere in sight.
Painting #1

To progress, you’ll want to direct your attention to the paintings. Walk up to the painting of a regal alien sitting atop a throne first.

You’ll be immediately teleported to a restroom, with an impatient person knocking on the door. Before you leave all flustered, make sure to grab the interestingly titled red book at the boom of the floor, near the toilet paper roll. Walk back into the painting to exit.
Painting #2

The second painting is a bit higher up, next to the blue window and right after the bookshelf. Parkour your way along, making sure to double jump and dash to reach into the painting.

You’ll be teleported into a room. It’s not exactly a pleasant sight, so ignore all the used tissue paper and grab the second book, The Wise Wizard Gentleman’s Pinup Collection (which might explain the uh, state of the room).
Jump back into the painting and leave.
Unlocking Painting #3

Head toward the Library, and hit the interact key (E) to place both books into the shelf. This will unlock a secret hidden lair that houses the third and final painting. Just walk up to it and jump into the land of Prismaria, where another long segment (and boss fight) awaits.
Prismaria is a weird, low poly land where you’ll have to go through a few cool sections and ultimately face off against Stevenson in an epic boss fight with the new weapon, Bowie.
If you find yourself bugged out, try restarting the checkpoint. In my case, I was teleported back to the start of the level, but I was atleast able to scale my way back and play as usual.
