Gothic 1 Remake – Where To Find Fisk

Fisk is a Shadow guard in Gothic who’s needed for several quests, especially in the early hours of the game. However, Fisk can be an elusive NPC, and it’s easy to mess up his dialogue options. So below, we’ll reveal where Fisk’s location is in the Gothic 1 Remake, and how he fits into the early quests.

A quick tip before approaching Fisk; make sure you manual save, as if you mess up his interactions it can be annoying to correct. It’s far easier to just reload and not make the same mistakes. With that in mind, here’s where to find Fisk in Gothic.

Fisk location in Gothic 1 Remake

Fisk is most commonly found near the campfire in the Old Camp, sitting on a bench by the huts, carving something with his knife. This is near the market district, and it’s the place where NPCs gather at night, sing and get drunk.

It’s also very close to where you can usually find Torrez.

If he’s not there, return in a few in-game hours, and he’s likely to be eventually. Fisk is one of those annoying NPCs who seems to wander off and simply disappear, making him hard to track down. But he’ll always return to this spot and it’s the place he hangs out more than any other.

Fisk’s role in the Gothic Remake

Fisk is a Shadow, a high-ranking guard, so he’s a useful ally to have. But unfortunately, he’s notoriously grumpy and is embroiled in several feuds with other members of the Old Camp.

One of these is Whistler, who’s one of the Shadows you need to impress to raise your reputation, gain entry into the faction, and make it inside the castle.

Whistler wants a sword that Fisk is selling for 100 nuggets, but due to Fisk not liking him, he can’t buy it. So, Whistler will task you with buying it for him and will give you 100 nuggets for the purchase.

Now, of course, you could keep the money and flee to another camp, which is exactly what you should do if you’re going to side with the New or Swamp Camps. However, if you’re making the Old Camp your home, best not rip off Whistler. He even gives you a stark warning about doing so.

    Buying the sword from Fisk

Fisk will offer to sell you the sword for 110 nuggets, which is 10 more than Whistler gave you. Our advice is to just pay the extra and don’t sweat it, it’s a small price to pay for completing the quest.

Make sure you don’t protest the price with Fisk, as if you do, he’ll increase the price to 500 nuggets and price you out. This either means you find the cash, which is a ridiculous amount, or you fail the quest.

Also, don’t tell Fisk you’re buying the sword for Whistler; all that will do is fail the quest and make two enemies.

If you mess up, just reload, as you’ll have no way to convince Fisk to lower the price again. But if you agree to the price of 110 nuggets, Fisk will sell you the sword, and you’ll be able to return it to Whistler.

Again, you can just keep the sword, but only do so if you’re already fleeing the camp and need a decent sword more than you need the money or Whistler’s friendship.

If you return the sword to Whistler, he’ll keep his word and put a good word in for you with the Shadows. This will raise your profile in camp and make you a more respected figure.

    Fisk later in the game

Later in the game, you’ll get a choice about driving Mordrag from the camp. Doing so will infuriate Fisk, as Mordrag is his fence and how he gets his shop goods. This is risky as it can make Fisk protest about you joining the Shadows.

While you can recruit Sharky to be Fisk’s new fence, calming him down and winning his approval, it’s easier to just not annoy him. So if you’re making the Old Camp your home, try not to kick out Mordrag if you can help it.
