Once Lou is able to bring you back to the present, you’re able to explore MagMell Island again. However, it’s a bit different compared to its past version that you went around with Noah. Of course, there are more bosses for you to face as well.
Alexis the Heartless Bodyguard isn’t a required boss in Code Vein 2, but it’s worth seeking them out for the weapon forma they drop, Adrenaline, which increases your attack power temporarily when you use it.
When you’re in the present again, exploring the Eastern Bay Underground Ruins is worth the time for facing Alexis and gathering the items and Haze available there, including a Golden Nectar.
Finding Alexis the Heartless Bodyguard

Alexis is found in the East Bay Underground Ruins on MagMell Island in the present. This is a location that you aren’t sent to by Valentin in the past. If you go to the crossroads and head east, using the path through the water, you’ll be brought right to the staircase that acts as the entrance.
Alexis’ boss room is in the rectangle right by the shore on the map, and my marker is standing right outside of it in the image. Like with other bosses, there’s a stone that you attune to outside of her arena so that you’ll respawn there in the event of death.
You don’t need to save Noah to face Alexis, and you can actually go fight them first and return to the past after to fight Franz. This might even be beneficial, as Alexis gives you the Adrenaline Weapon Forma, which gives you a temporary boost to your attack power.
Alexis’ Attacks and Strategy
Alexis only has one phase and a total of seven attacks that you have to watch out for. Parrying isn’t a great option for this fight, so it’s better to use the Bleeding Shield as your defensive option to block attacks. Most of these attacks are centered around Alexis’ six flying blades.
The core attacks seem to be Alexis’ whirlwind, cleave, spear, swipe combo, slam, and retreat.

Whirlwind uses all of Alexis’ swords to attack in a circle around them. The range is small, so you can dodge back to avoid damage quite easily.
Cleave uses three swords to attack in an arc in front of Alexis, and you know it’s coming up when the swords float behind them to prepare for the attack. Since it’s a swiping motion, you want to dodge back or get behind Alexis to avoid damage. The benefit of getting behind them is that you can get some hits in.

Spear is the most frustrating of these attacks. Alexis sends out all six swords in an arc towards you, then pulls them back to them. This means that they can get two hits in if you don’t dodge or block. If you’re close enough when Alexis is preparing to use this attack, you can interrupt it with your own attack to stagger them.

Swipe Combo is pretty standard for bosses in Code Vein 2. Alexis directs their swords with their hand four times. Each hit is a swipe, so you want to block or dodge back to avoid damage. The downside with blocking here is that the multiple hits will drain your stamina.

Slam has Alexis jump on you with her swords in a circle around them, meaning you need to dodge a little wider that you expect to because of that additional range.
Retreat is an easier attack to deal with. Alexis simply throws three swords into the ground in front of them and jumps back. You can dodge it by moving to the side or back.
Finally, their last attack is a roar, which doesn’t use her blades. Instead, Alexis roars and deals damage that will knock you back if your hit. The range isn’t huge, so when you see them start moving their hands to their throat, back away to dodge the attack.
Tips for Fighting Alexis the Heartless Bodyguard
Alexis has a lot of fast attacks that cover melee range and a few attacks that can hit you from a distance. However, they aren’t too tanky, so you can lower their health bar quite easily. You can be aggressive in this fight without too much risk as long as you have decent timing, which isn’t the case for every boss in Code Vein 2.
The best strategy is to focus on dodging the melee attacks by moving to Alexis’ side or behind them, as the melee attacks with the exception of the slam and whirlwind all deal damage in front of them. This lets you attack freely while Alexis is locked in an attack pattern. For the spear attack, it’s best to block if you aren’t close to Alexis, and dodge by moving behind them if you are close enough.
Beyond knowing when to dodge and when to block, Alexis is a straightforward fight once you pick up which animations signal each attack. I prefer to use one-handed swords for faster attacks, but I could see two-handed weapons that are slower also working well here, as Alexis doesn’t seem to have a lot of defense, so the heavy damage would bring their health down quite quickly.
With this information and Lou’s help, Alexis becomes a straightforward fight in Code Vein 2. The biggest challenge is recognizing their cues and dodging the attacks that they signal.
