Cinderia – How to Find the Recorder

With the Blacksmith unlocked, you’ll have plenty of upgrades to add to the Shelter in Cinderia. Amongst them lies the Library, a full item compendium that lists effects, upgrades, and how to unlock currently hidden selections.

Aside from the stone and note cost, the game asks you to find the Recorder, a strange request that leaves little when it comes to hints. Luckily, I’m here to help you find the man, who needs the rescue more than most.

Before you even find him, the Library has a few requirements you should strive to cover. First things first, you’ll need to have the Shelter itself upgraded to at least Tier 3.

This unlocks the basement, where the Library will reside, and spruces up the entire place a bit. This will cost a pretty penny in Stone, a process that can be expedited if you’ve already opened the Fortune Hut. The Seer can allow you to spawn extra stone, making the grind a bit easier.

Once you’ve gotten the Shelter to Tier 3, make sure you have enough stone and notes for the Library itself, then start making your way to the Caves.

    Saving the Recorder

The Recorder isn’t an instrument; it’s instead the title of an old man who is trapped in the Caves, the third area in Cinderia. The Recorder can seemingly only be encountered in Event rooms, so aim for the Question Marks whenever they appear.

You’ll find him hiding in the top left of the room, where he’ll approach once the enemies have all been slain. After a brief exchange he’ll warp to the Shelter, ready and waiting for his building to be constructed.

With 15 stone, 5 notes, and the Recorder safely at home, you’ll be free to build the Library, a great boon to your equipment hunting needs.

    What Does the Recorder Do?

The Recorder runs the Library from the Shelter’s basement, providing a full compendium of Equipment as you find it. Items available to earn but yet to be found are darkened, while locked items will have their requirements listed.

You’re bound to have unlocked plenty of equipment simply by playing, but some of the best will ask for some seriously strange conditions to be met. With the Library, you can freely peruse until something catches your eye, giving you something extra to shoot for on a run.

Better equipment in the pool means easier runs, and an ever quick path to stopping the Ashen Witch, so get to it!
