Black Myth Wukong offers a variety of ways to customize your build – and that extends even to the Gourd that you equip. While you will initially start with the standard Old Gourd that replenishes health; you will start getting different Gourds with different benefits – right down to one that replenishes Gourd uses as well! Collecting all Gourds in the game also nets you a trophy; in case you are looking to platinum or 100% this game. Even if you are not; the variety on offer needs to be sampled to pick one that best suits your playstyle. Lets look at all Gourd locations and benefits in Black Myth Wukong
#1: Old Gourd
The default starting Gourd of Common rarity with 4 uses; you can then upgrade this over the course of the game.
#2: Jade Lotus Gourd
Jade Lotus Gourd can be purchased from Shen Monkey at Marsh Of White Mist Shrine once you have completed Chapter 2. It costs 7200 Will, is of the Epic rarity, and comes with 6 uses. The Jade Lotus Gourd recovers health for nearby duplicates as well upon use. As it’s easy to imagine, this complements A Pluck Of Many skill perfectly. This can be upgraded to Jade Guanyin Gourd as well.
#3: Plaguebane Gourd
The Plaguebane Gourd is obtained from a chest at the end of the Old-Rattledrum questline and defeating the Mad Tiger boss. This is of Rare variety and has 5 default uses. The Plaguebane Gourd halves health recovery but gives increased Attack for a short duration.
#4: Trailblazer’s Scarlet Gourd
The Trailblazer’s Scarlet Gourd comes as part of a Pre-Order bonus. It can, however, also be obtained during the Horse Guai questline when you interact with him at New Thunderclap Temple in Chapter 3. This one comes with 5 uses and is of Rare level; with the benefit of full health replenishment on the first sip – if the Gourd is full.
#5: Stained Jade Gourd
The Stained Jade Gourd is obtained on defeating The Scorpionlord boss located in Purple Cloud Mountain – a secret area in Chapter 4. This is of the Epic rarity and comes with 7 uses with a killer benefit of increasing drinking speed massively – a big benefit especially when fighting agile bosses.
#6: Fiery Gourd
The Fiery Gourd can be looted off a chest in the Valley of Ecstasy area in Chapter 3. Start from the Mindfulness Cliff Shrine, jump down from the planks, take the stairs, and follow the path till you spot a set of stairs on your right. Take those to come out into an open area, and follow the path to spot the chest with the Fiery Gourd lying at the end. This one is of the Epic rarity and comes with 7 uses. The benefits are also pretty neat for the area and for certain bosses – the Fiery Gourd gives you immunity from Chill Bane and increases Max Stamina for a short time after taking a sip!
#7: Xiang River Goddess Gourd
The Xiang River Goddess Gourd is obtained by starting from The Verdure Bridge Shrine in the Webbed Hollow region, following the lit path till you come across a cut scene. There will be a room filled with delights – 5 Golden Treasure Chests! One of these contains the Gourd. The Xiang River Goddess Gourd is of Legendary rarity and has 8 uses. Again, a great one to use for specific areas and boss fights, this one gives you Burn Resistance and immunity from lava-covered terrain for a short duration.
#8: Immortal Blessing Gourd
The Immortal Blessing Gourd can be purchased from Shen Monkey for 10800 Will – but only after getting Buddha’s Right & Left Hand. This is of Legendary rarity with 8 uses and shares the benefit with Plaguebane Gourd – increasing attack but halving health recovery.
#9: Supreme Gourd
The Supreme Gourd is obtained at the end of the Old Man NPC quest. This one is of a Mythical rarity and has 10 uses.
#10: Multi-Glazed Gourd
The Multi-Glazed Gourd can be purchased after finishing Chapter 5 from Shen Monkey for 18000 Will. This is also of Mythical rarity with 8 uses and increases Attack for a short duration after taking the last sip from the Gourd.
#11: Qing-Tian Gourd
This one will take some doing – as the condition to unlock the Qing-Tian Gourd is finishing 100% of Journal entries! If you pull this one off, you can go to Shen Monkey and purchase this for 66 Will. This one has the benefit of slowly recovering Gourd uses.
