Best Haute Couture Ryoshu Build in Limbus Company

Season 8 of Limbus Company is officionally underway, and that means a new Canto, new battlepass, and for our purposes today, new Identities! We’ve opened with a pair of IDs based on some of the subbosses from Canto 10 itself, and Ryoshu is hear to represent Le Noir.

Haute Couture:: Le Noir Footwear Hall Ryoshu is a Charge/Tremor ID focused on frontlining, spiking the enemy’s Stagger Thresholds, and massive shields. Far from the strongest Identity we’re bound to get this season, Haute Couture Ryoshu packs some surprising power and forges her own niche, let’s take a look!

Limbus Company – Haute Couture Ryoshu’s Role

As stated above, Haute Couture Ryoshu serves as a fantastic tank for both Charge and Tremor teams, with a unique strength solo Mirror Dungeon thanks to her massive shields. These Shields come from her first passive, Le Noir: Gabardine Fabric. For a quick run through of its effects…

    • Ryoshu gains 25 stacks of Le Noir: Gabardine Overcoat when she enters a fight.
    • Ryoshu gains a shield equal to her stacks of Le Noir: Gabardine Overcoat and Armure Eveillee divided by 5% of her maximum HP.
    • If Ryoshu has any stacks of Armure Eveillee, her Skill 3, “Triple Stamped Stitching” is converted into her Skill 3-2, “Single Kick – Couture Multiple”.

This shield means Ryoshu can face tank some serious damage, easily building up shields floating between 80~100 HP strong. In unfocused encounters, you don’t have to worry about her surviving at all, and during Focuses fights, she’ll be your best bet for shaking off heavy blows you can’t otherwise get around.

How to Use Haute Couture Ryoshu

Haute Couture Ryoshu is a Charge/Tremor hybrid, meaning her debuff is easy enough to maintain and you’ll want to focus on ensuring her unique Charge type, Perseveration, is good and building over the course of the battle.

This scaling power functions identically to other forms of Charge, rewarding 1 Charge Potency for every 10 Count consumed by her skills. This rising Potency further enhances her damage, Charge Potency buildup rate. Additionally, Charge consumed builds up stacks Le Noir: Gabardine Overcoat, which enhances her defense.

Once Ryoshu’s Le Noir: Gabardine Overcoat reaches 100 stacks, she converts them into Armure Eveillee, buffing her Offensive Level, Speed, and granting her access to the strongest attack in her kit, “Single Kick – Couture Multiple”. Let Ryoshu take some hits and focus on Tremor‘d enemies, and she’s golden.

    Haute Couture Ryoshu’s Best Teams

Haute Couture Ryoshu, after a season of such insane heavy hitters, is a nice, lower powered ID I’ve had afun building teams for, namely slotting well into Tremor: Scorch and Charge. Her fairly unique blend of Charge and Tremor gives her a lot of solid use cases, even if she isn’t best in slot at current. Let’s take a look at two now.

    Tremor: Scorch Support

This is the personal favorite, running Haute Couture Ryoshu as a 7th for the main Tremor: Scorch lineup. This mainly comes from her tankiness and super solid Stagger Threshold abuse, raising it by an extra 30% when raised via Tremor Burst if her Passive “Feedback” is online.

Haute Couture Ryoshu provides super solid, consistent damage, and a great Clasher alongside Thumb Rodion. She’s not the most neccessary for the team, but if you don’t have a different pet ID you’re using to back up the Dawn and the Thumb, Haute Couture Ryoshu is a great pick.

    True Charge Synergy

Now this one is a bit more theoretical, but Ryoshu’s great Charge breakpoints and unique methods of expediting the Charge buildup process mean she can rock with a proper Charge lineup super well, even if her Tremor side will go fairly unsupported. She also struggles to kick off her passive without a Skill 3.

Luckily, Tremor is actually pretty okay with that, being very low maintenance and only losing 1 Count on turn end or activation. Either way, Ryoshu continues to use the Tremor stack to rush her Charge, while the rest of the team focuses on running the Rube Goldberg machine that is a Charge comp.

Again, she might not be the best unit statistically in the slot, but she’s very solid, can hold her own, and can take a beating far better than most. No matter the content, she’s an entirely solid pick.

Should You Pull for Haute Couture Ryoshu?

With the new season raring and a fresh double banner in the shop, it can be all too tempting to take some pulls, but I’m here to tell you that you should not pull for her! As the first ID drop of the season, Haute Couture Ryoshu isn’t going anywhere, and the infinite Mirror Dungeon method is back in 2 weeks!

The full battlepass unlocks in 2 weeks time, and even now you can stock up level-ups in preparation. Once its finished, any battlepass level you clear above 120 grants 3 EGO Shard Boxes of your choice, making it trivial to grind out any ID you really want. With all the time in the world and her standard power profile, just wait.

Unlike most Gacha, patience really is a virtue in Limbus Company, and you’ll be able to get Haute Couture Ryoshu just by playing in no time at all, so save your Lunacy for a real heavy hitter banner, something like Walpurgisnacht, or the season’s Capstone ID later down the line.
