Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has also revamped Edward Kenway‘s wardrobe as well as the graphics and how to approach certain quests. While some costumes return from the original AC4, along with some legendary sets from other Assassin’s Creed games, Resynced has some rather awesome new additions too, such as the Shade and Shadow Robes.
While some costumes can be found by simply playing the story, others need to be hunted down in chests or by completing certain challenges within the game. The Shade and Shadow Robes are one such costume in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. So below, we’ll fully explain how to unlock them so you can plunder the high seas in style.
How to unlock the Shade and Shadow Robes

It’s going to take quite a bit of work to unlock the Shade and Shadow Robes in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. To get them, you’ll need to locate and restore the 4 Preserved Map Pieces first.
This isn’t just a case of hunting down 4 items. Instead, you’ll need to raid warehouses all over the map until you obtain them in random drops. They’re also unlikely to be given to you with the first 4 warehouses you plunder. Instead, the game will most likely drip-feed them to you based on how many you’ve cleared.
While you can unlock paintings by targeting specific warehouses, the Preserved Map Pieces are completely random. Some of the warehouse raids are story missions, but once you’ve set up your base on Great Inagua, you’ll have raided at least 2, and you should now be free to travel the map and raid the others.

So, if you’d like to sail around the map and raid the various military warehouses to unlock all the Preserved Map Pieces, here’s a list of every one and the coordinates they’re located at:
| Region Location | Coordinates |
|---|---|
| Havana | 205,600 |
| Nassau | 593,750 |
| Tortuga | 848,346 |
| Cat Island | 706,670 |
| Matanzas | 308,617 |
| New Bone | 404,91 |
| Black Island | 913,611 |
| Kingston 1 | 609,181 |
| Kingston 2 | 605,156 |
You may find you raid every warehouse and don’t unlock every Preserved Map Piece. That’s okay, as you can have the warehouses restocked and raid them again and again by completing the naval Scouting Missions. This will allow you to farm them again and again for Map Pieces.
If this happens, try to restock the easiest warehouses to raid, such as the one in Nassau and Havana. As these were some of the first you encountered, they’ll be the simplest to farm, and you’ll unlock the missing pieces in no time.
Once you’ve gathered all 4 Preserved Map Pieces, have them restored by visiting the Treasure Dealer in Great Inagua. From there, head to the dig site on Sacrifice Island (Coordinates 14, 554), find the exact spot and dig to obtain the Shade and Shadow Robes and some other nifty gear.
