Defeating ARC enemies in ARC Raiders helps you farm valuable crafting materials. To upgrade your gear bench, farm Bastion Cells from the Bastion ARC. These giant beasts are intimidating, so prepare thoroughly before facing them. Follow this guide to know how to defeat the Bastion in ARC Raiders.
Best Bastion Locations and Strategy in ARC Raiders
The Bastion appears on all maps, but the best spawn locations are at Blue Gate and Buried City. In Blue Gate, go to Headhouse, then enter the underground tunnels. Move southeast until you see a vent above. Use it to reach Gate Approach – Traffic Tunnel. While you exit the vent, stay on top of the pipes to get a better vantage point at the Bastion below. You could travel along the pipes to reach the bridge ahead and take cover near the entrance to avoid the Bastion’s fire.
The second-best location to find the Bastion is when you head over to Piazza Rosa in Buried City. The Bastion usually patrols the northern section of the Plaza, so get up the buildings here and start shooting down at it. Do remember that the Bastion will shoot upwards, so step back to avoid the barrage of bullets being fired at you. If you spot other ARC enemies surrounding the Bastion, deal with them first and thin out the herd before you focus on the Bastion.
Best Bastion Loadout
The Ferro is the best weapon to use for the Bastion fight if you plan on fighting the ARC head-on. If you don’t have a Ferro or haven’t upgraded it enough, then the Torrente or the Bobcat works well here, too. Just be sure to upgrade your guns and stock up on enough ammo. If using the Torrente, make sure you crouch while using the gun, since its bullet spread might not hit the Bastion if you don’t crouch for stability.
If you plan on using grenades to take down the Bastion, then the Wolfpack Grenade, in combination with Snap Grenades, is a popular explosive choice. If you don’t have these, then the Trigger ‘Nade, Blaze Grenade, Explosive Mines, and Jolt Mine will also work, but you will require larger quantities of these mines and grenades to deal with the Bastion.
Bastion Weaknesses
The head, legs, and the node on its back offer a bit of a weak spot to aim and shoot at. If you are shooting at the Bastion from above, then aiming for the head will be easier. Otherwise, while on the ground, aim for the legs. If you are lucky, have someone lure the Bastion away from you, so you get to shoot at its back and directly at the node.
