We’re rapidly approaching the third week of Season 8, and we’re still on the ‘faster releases’ path thanks to the new Canto, and we’re already moving on to some higher powered foes! Based on the highest member of Le Noir we’ve gone up against, Le Noir Brand Manager Don Quixote is our newest unit on the horizon.
Sure to be another powerful ID in a set of already great additions to both Charge and Tremor, the Le Noir Brand Manager Don Quixote seems to not only bring her own power to the table, but buff fellow Le Noir allies, just like the boss herself. Let’s take a look at the trailer to see what we can gather.
Le Noir Brand Manager Don Quixote’s Gimmick
Following the buildup to Week 3 of Canto 10, Don Quixote’s trailer has dropped, allowing us to get some understanding of just how she’ll play once she drops on October 1st. Based on both her animations and the fight against the Brand Manager herself, this Don ID is set to be a Charge/Tremor powerhouse.
Tanking the frontline as a sort of tanking paladin, a perfect role for our hero of justice, Le Noir Brand Manager Don Quixote seems built both to take a hit head on and buff the rest of the team in the meantime. A la Zwei Ishmael, Brand Manager Don seems to have a unique buff to raise her own guard will be hit.
In the trailer, she immediately responds with an attack after getting hit, perhaps implying some kind of true Counter usually tied with brawly units like the Middle. Anything to help her take a few more licks is welcome, supplying mountains of Tremor as the Le Noir team grows.
New Standards of Presentation

With every season, the visual presentation of the Identities and EGOs on offer improve, and just from this trailer its clear that Le Noir Don Quixote is no different. Last season introduced mountains of beautiful VFX work, and Season 8 seems focused on letting us see the battle from all new angles.
The first wild new style of animation comes during what appears to be Don’s Skill 3, where the she leaps into the air with her massive warhammer before the camera cuts to a new style of 2D shot directly in front of her face, framing her descent with the golden effects surrounding her and her towering antlers.
She also brings a new field effect similar to Bloodfeast or Scorchfield, at least visually. While these effects coat the floor in blood or set the background on fire respectively, Le Noir Brand Manager Don Quixote frames the entire arena in a wall of gold, Le Noir’s signature shade.
What’s Next for Season 8?

Season 8 has already proved to be a solid season at a baseline, adding power to the Charge lineup that desperately needed it while redefining how Support units function at a fundamental level. As fun as the recent IDs have been, these are likely the weakest of the season, with heavy hitters coming in this week’s update.
When it really comes down to it, the Brand Managers could prove to be real small potatoes, especially once the Giants are introduced proper as characters. Remember that any character revealed in a Canto has the chance to become an Identity, so your favorites have real chances of being represented.
Boss fights especially give a very easy to digest translation between enemy and ID, as most actually use the status systems in their own ways. With Le Noir Brand Manager Don Quixote, we’re sure to get the original Brand Manager’s tankiness, unique Tremor application, and mountains of style.
