What Does The Blessed Gourd In Black Myth Wukong Do?
The Blessed Gourd in Black Myth Wukong is used to absorb Spirits of bosses that you defeat, which in turn enables you to perform Spirit Transformations. These Spirit Transformations grant you a passive benefit, and also allow you to transform into that particular Spirit once during combat using Qi and unleash a devastating attack against the enemy. For example, the Spirit absorption from the Wandering Wight boss that you encounter gives you a passive of increased defense, and the ability to ram your foe with a skull, just like the boss itself.
This does not happen for all enemies that you defeat, it mostly applies to Yaoguai Chiefs – you will know these from the regular mob enemies as they have a bluish aura around them.
Blessed Gourd Location In Black Myth Wukong
The Blessed Gourd is obtained on interacting with a NPC after defeating Lingxuzi in the Guanyin Temple. Start from the Snake Trail Keeper’s Shrine and take the set of stairs on your right. Keep progressing and you will come across the NPC. Approach him to get a short cutscene and then interact to get the Blessed Gourd.
How To Absorb Spirits In Black Myth Wukong
Once you have obtained the Blessed Gourd from the NPC in the Snake Trail area, you unlock the ability to absorb spirits on defeating certain bosses in Black Myth Wukong. In case you have defeated a boss or so before you gained this ability, you can go to a Keeper’s Shrine, select Retrieve Spirits and then select those that you have not absorbed yet.
You can also go to Self-Advance -> Cultivate Spirits to upgrade ones which you use regularly or complement your playstyle.
