The Limbus Company House of Spiders story has finally simmered down, and we’ve finally been graced with the darkest ending for Ryoshu. The Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu is our resident artist’s Capstone Identity, an absolute showcase of what she can do while bringing wholly new mechanics to the table. But what’s the best set-up for Ryoshu?

BoHoS Ryoshu is a friendly fire machine, sacrificing other House of Spiders IDs for massive, unique buffs that allow her to do absolute mountains of damage. With damage mitigation, fantastic poise generation, and AOE bombs, let’s see if Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu is worth all the hype. Here’s an overview of the best Ryoshu build.

    Should You Pull BoHoS Ryoshu?

First off, the big question is, is Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu spending your precious tickets and lunacy on? Short answer? Absolutely!

BoHoS Ryoshu is phenomenal for both short and long battles, with variable scaling based entirely on your preference. Her insane damage, full HP mitigation, and triple statuses mean you can run her on plenty of teams easily.

When put into either a Poise or a full House of Spiders team, BoHoS Ryoshu is a monster, and even at her worst, she’s a nonstop nuker that can tear through the hardest content. If you’ve been struggling with Railway, Reflectrial, or Floor 15 MDE, she could be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

Now, Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu has a whopping 7 skills, alongside 5 passives that each complicate her further. Let’s go step by step to figure out exactly how she works, starting with her passives!

    Passive – Saikai

When the encounter starts, Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu gains two buffs, Entanglement and String Severance.

Entanglement increases the damage of most of Ryoshu’s skills, granting both increases to her Skill 1’s Afterimage count, and straight damage to her Skills 2 and 3.

String Severance reduces her damage taken per stack and grants unique extra buffs based on House of Spiders ally deaths, whether she kills them or not.

Entanglement‘s minimum and maximum count is increased for every 3 House of Spiders identities in your loadout, up to maximum of 3.

When any other House of Spiders identity is on the field, all HP damage Ryoshu takes is transferred to that identity, prioritizing the ID with the lowest HP percentage. On top of that, Ryoshu is locked to 1 HP for the entire turn the first time she’s hit by damage that would otherwise kill her, once per encounter.

Whenever a House of Spiders identity dies, BoHoS Ryoshu gains 1 Entanglement and a unique effect from this list.

    • For Index Nursefather Yi Sang: The final Unbreakable Coin in each of Ryoshu’s base skills deals an extra 10% damage. The final coin of all her base skills becomes Unbreakable.
    • For Index Apprentice Don Quixote: Each base attack skill gives Ryoshu 2 Poise, and she applies Sinking on Crit.
    • For Middle Apprentice Ishamel: Ryoshu gains 2 Defense Level, and her base skills apply 1 extra Burn potency.
    • For Ring Nursefather Hong Lu: Ryoshu gains his unique buff, Somatic Frisson-inspiring Melody, granting her 1 extra Clash Power and increasing her damage by 10%.
    • For Ring Apprentice Faust: Ryoshu gains a shield worth 10% of her HP at the start of every turn.
    • For Pinky Apprentice Sinclair: Ryoshu gains 1 Poise Count and 1 Crit Damage Up at the start of every turn.

If there aren’t any indentites left in your backup team, Ryoshu gains 1 skill slot for every 3 House of Spiders allies who have died.

As a final bonus, once Ryoshu is the last member of the House of Spiders alive, the music from 9-48’s boss fight replaces the stage music, just for a little extra aura.

    Passive – Spacetime Afterimage Collapse

When a turn starts, Ryoshu inflicts a random enemy or part with Phantom Trace. Enemies with Phantom Trace take 5% extra damage from Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu, and trigger additional attacks.

When targeting an enemy that has Phantom Trace, Ryoshu throws out an extra copy of her Skill 2-2, Inevitable Termination, as an unopposed attack before her main attack. Her main attack also replaces its coins with Unbreakable Coins and gains 1 extra Final Power.

Whenever she attacks an enemy with Phantom Trace, Ryoshu gains 1 Entanglement once per turn.

    Passive – Dihui Star

Whenever she applies her unique debuff, Bladetrail, with her attacks, Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu gains a buff called Dihui Star’s Blade. Ryoshu can gain 25 stacks of this buff a turn, maximum.

When Ryoshu gains 50 or more Dihui Star’s Blade, she throws out her skill 3-3, Rend Space – String Connection, against a random enemy. Once this attack goes off, Ryoshu cannot retreat for the rest of the encounter and will throw out strong Rend Space – Echoshears whenever she reaches 50 or more Dihui Star’s Blade for the rest of the fight.

    Passive – Afterimage Reverberation

    Ryoshu's Pride passive

The first of her passives with a Sin requirement, gathering 5 Pride will grant Blade of the House of Spider Ryoshu 1% extra damage for every 1 surplus Poise she gains past 20, with a max of 10%.

Whenever Ryoshu crits on her base skills, she applies 1 Bladetrail [Afterimage]. The afflicted enemy takes 1% extra damage from Slash skills for every 10 stacks.

Ryoshu can also activate her seasonal EGO’s passive while attacking allies.

Support Passive – The Master’s Tutelage

With 3 Pride resonance, the ally earliest in the deployment order gains 2 Poise potency whenever they use a base skill.

    Skill 1 – Tripleslash

    Ryoshu's Tripleslash
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu’s skill 1 is a 3 coin Lust Slash attack with 3 Base Power. The skill gains Coin and Base Power based on her Poise and the enemy’s Burn/Bleed, while granting her 3 extra Poise before the attack goes off.

The first two coins grant Poise and inflict extra Bleed/Burn Count on crit. The final coin is where the magic happens, earning Ryoshu Poise, applying Bladetrail [Afterimage] based on her Entanglement, and dealing bonus damage and Bleed on crit.

Skill 1-2 – Slay the Heavens – Tiansha

Uniquely, BoHoS Ryoshu’s enhanced Skill 1 only targets allies. Activated whenever Ryoshu uses her Defensive Skill, Ryoshu will attack one random House of Spiders ally, piercing their Defensive Skills and instantly killing them outright.

Whenever Tiansha goes off, Ryoshu loses 1 Offense Level and grants all of her base skills 1 extra Base Power. This effect can stack 4 times. When Ryoshu kills an ally, she heals 20 SP and gains Entangled Life equal to the damage it took to kill them.

Entangled Life is yet another damage boost, granting Ryoshu a maximum 10% bonus damage when fully stacked.

    Skill 2 -Tripleslash – Echoshear

    Ryoshu's skill 2
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Ryoshu’s base skill 2 is a 3 Coin Pride Slash skill with a base power of 4. Like her skill 1, Ryoshu gains Coin and Final Power based on the enemy’s Burn/Bleed and her own Poise, while gaining additional Poise Count.

Her first coin grants her Poise on hit, while inflicting Bleed on Crit. The second coin inflicts 2 Burn while stacking even more Bleed on Crit.

The final coin stacks Burn on hit, while inflicting even more Bleed on Crit and dealing bonus Slash damage based on Ryoshu’s Entanglement.

    Skill 2-2 – Inevitable Termination

    Ryoshu's Skill 2-2
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Activated by attacking an enemy with Phantom Trace, Inevitable Termination is a single coin Pride Slash skill with a base power of 10. Inevitable Termination doesn’t activate Defense Skills, and external effects can’t cause her to reuse it.

On use, Ryoshu gains Poise Count, and if activated by Skill 3, the skill gains extra Attack Weight equal to the enemies with Phantom Trace applied. The attack prioritizes enemies with Phantom Trace and removes the effect on hit.

The skill deals an extra 30% damage on Crit, and inflicts Bladetrail [Afterimage] equal to her Entanglement. On hit, Ryoshu detonates the Burn on the enemy, dealing damage based on the potency and lowering the count by 1. On Crit, she additionally inflicts Slash Fragility.

    Skill 3 – Rend Space

    Ryoshu's Skill 3
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Ryoshu’s base skill 3 is a single coin Wrath Slash skill with 10 Base Power and a whopping 12 Coin Power. The skill gains extra Final and Base Power based on Ryoshu’s Poise and the enemy’s Burn/Bleed.

On use, the skill deals extra damage and attack weight based on Ryoshu’s Entanglement, grants her Poise, and deals even more bonus damage if she has more attack weight than targets. Once the attack ends, Ryoshu inflicts Bladetrail [Afterimage] on random enemies based on her Entanglement.

On to that single coin, it deals a whopping 50% bonus damage on Crit, and afflicts Bleed and Burn on hit, detonates both on Crit, and deals extra Slash damage based on her Entanglement.

    Skill 3-2 – Rend Space – Echoshear

    Ryoshu's skill 3-2
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Ryoshu’s highest damaging move, Rend Space – Echoshear is a 2 coin Wrath Slash skill with a Base Power of 16 and a Coin Power of 1 that is activated by her Dihui Star’s Blade passive.

For every String Severance Ryoshu has, Rend Space – Echoshear loses 1 Base Power and gains an extra coin 1. The final coin gains bonus Coin Power for every Entanglement Ryoshu has, and deals extra damage based on her excess attack weight.

When the skill ends, Ryoshu’s Entanglement has its minimum and maximum stacks increased by 1, and resets itself to the new minimum. Rend Space – Echoshear also consumes 50 Dihui Star’s Blade, allowing you to start the cycle of gaining it over again.

The first coin, and every bonus coin, grants Ryoshu 1 extra Poise Count and inflicts 1 Burn and Bleed each. The second coin deals bonus damage on Crit, and consumes all the Bladetrail [Afterimage] on the enemy to deal bonus Slash damage.

On Crit, the final coin deals even more Slash damage based on Ryoshu’s Entanglement and detonates the enemy’s Burn and Bleed, acting as a massive damage bomb.

Skill 3-3 – Rend Space – String Connection

    Ryoshu;s Shin
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Ryoshu’s final attack skill, Rend Space – String Connection, is a 2 coin Wrath Slash skill with a Base Power of 14 and a Coin power of 3. Activated the first time she gains 50+ Dihui Star’s Blade, String Connection is more of a buff than a big attack, but its a hell of a buff.

When activated, Ryoshu gains 5 Poise and her unique Shin – Dihui Star. Once she has Shin, for the rest of the encounter, Ryoshu’s Minimum and Maximum speed is increased by 2, she gains extra Poise Potency and Count, and she deals 10% bonus damage on Crit. Additionally, she takes 20% less damage from Unopposed Attacks and Unbreakable Coins.

If that wasn’t enough, Ryoshu also removes her first Stagger threshold, protecting herself even further. On the first coin hit, she applies some Burn and Bleed. On the second coin, she detonates the Burn.

    Defensive Skill – Phantom Step

    Ryoshu's Phantom Step
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

This is where the meat grinder starts. Phantom Step is a single coin Pride Dodge with a Base Power of 4 and a Coin Power of 10. When combat starts, Ryoshu silently targets 1 House of Spiders ally who is last in the deployment order. With String Severance, Ryoshu targets a second ally as well.

Once all skills have gone off, or the ally is staggered, Ryoshu will use Slay the Heavens – Tiansha against the targeted allies. Notably, this always targets Pinky Apprentice Sinclair last. On cast she gains Poise Count, and on dodge, she gains Poise.

This dodge is how you get the ball rolling, sacrificing House of Spiders allies for their unique buffs, as well as bonus Entanglement and String Severance. Toss it out whenever you’re ready to make the play, allowing Ryoshu to dodge scary attacks while setting up Sinners for extermination.

Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu Team Comps

Now, where does BoHoS Ryoshu actually go? In all honesty, she’s a great slot pretty much anywhere thanks to Poise’s innate self-sufficiency, but enabling her will do wonders. Let’s go over just a few!

    Full House of Spiders

The House of Spiders team comp for BoHoS Ryoshu
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

This team isn’t fully realized, as we still have to wait for a few more seasonal IDs, but for pure Ryoshu rush, you can’t go wrong by lining up her most hated one after another.

With a full House of Spiders lineup, Ryoshu will be left all by her lonesome, exactly how she wants. By turn 4, she’ll be soloing with bonus skill slots, a fully realized passive, and ridiculous speed values.

This team is definitely a bit on the pricey side, but if you’ve been playing this season since the start, you’re likely to have gathered a good few Spiders already.

If you’re playing some longer-form content like the newer Refraction Railways, buffing Ryoshu early will keep her strong throughout the whole encounter, letting her downright mulch later fights. Perfect for the solo inclined among you.

    Pure Poise

A Poise comp for BoHoS Ryoshu
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Now, if we actually want Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu to have some backup, we can look at the larger Poise selection. Not every Sinner gets to have an impact on the team, but it gives Ryosho plenty of support that can lead her to insane highs.

While House of Spiders Yi Sang, Sinclair, and Don Quixote are still here to die, the support fron the Full Stop Duo, Pequad Ishmael’s support passive, and Index Faust will keep the pressure off of Ryoshu as she fuels her own Poise.

Running Ryoshu’s Poise EGO can also really help her tempo, boosting her with its Equalizer passive as she spends turns executing the House of Spiders. Make sure to place Yi Sang last in the deployment order, as Ryoshu always targets the latest ally first.
