Xbox revealed today in a blog post the latest additions to the Game Pass – 1 of these is a trilogy. Mafia : Definitive Edition, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and Creatures Of Ava join the Game Pass library.

Creatures Of Ava joins Game Pass on day 1 of its launch – tomorrow, August 7, 2024. The game is an indie action-adventure that will have you working with fantastical creatures to save them and the planet from a life-consuming infection. Early game reviews have given it an overall score 0f 78 on Metacritic – with the world-building, creature design, gameplay being praised across reviews. This should be a solid addition to Game Pass, and with a day 1 release especially, it does add value for gamers.

The other two games are also pretty big ones. Mafia – Definitive Edition is a 2020 remake of Mafia 1 (originally released in 2002) – and what is often considered as the best in the series (with Mafia 2 also coming, well – a close second). The remake was also received well by critics and gamers, and sits at a score of 78 on Metacritic. This is an easy one to recommend for gamers who may have missed the original at the time of launch and not had a chance to check out the remake. The game will be playable on Game Pass from 13th August.

The last addition is the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy which includes remasters of Crash Bandicoot (originally released in 1996), Cortex Strikes back (1997) and Warped (1998). The remastered trilogy was released in 2017 for PS4 and Switch, PC and Xbox One in 2018. The game is a platforming one and has gained reputation as being really tough – but at the same time having good graphics and level design. The Trilogy currently has a score of 80 on Metacritic. The Trilogy will be playable on Game Pass from 8th August.

This follows on July additions of new releases like Dungeons of Hinterberg, Flintlock : The Siege of Dawn and Kunitsu – Gami : Path of the Goddess as well as Neon White and Tchia among others. With this and the PS4 Essential games also announced and playable from today, the set of games being added to subscription services does look to have an improvement in quality, a clear indication of the importance of this in both the gaming giants’ future plans.
