After getting the keys from Gaffer in Stalker 2 to cross the bridge into the Garbage region, one of the first side missions you encounter will be at the detention center called “The Road To Salvation”. In this quest, Star will ask you to head into Ward territory for him to find his men but he will also give you a side mission to retrieve some documents. Here is how you can find Star’s men and the documents from Nestor’s archive in Stalker 2.

How To Start The Road To Salvation In Stalker 2
The Road To Salvation quest unlocks on speaking to Star at the Detention Center. You will access this area after completing the Behind Seven Seals mission and leaving Lesser Zone as part of the main mission. After talking to him, he will give you the rundown of the Ward’s presence at the Factory and that Nestor is hiding there. But since you will be going there to find Nestor, he asks you to also check on his men who went to investigate earlier.
This will now start “The Road To Salvation” quest which will point you to the same place as the main mission to find Nestor called “Answers Come At A Price” as they are both in the Factory. Star will also offer you a silenced PTM which will come in handy if you don’t already have a silencer on Skif’s Pistol.
How To Find Star’s Men
As you approach the Factory, you will spot a few Ward soldiers patrolling the area. You can choose to take them out quietly or simply avoid them. Your goal here is to make it to the second floor of the main building. Coming from the side of the Detention Center, there is a slanted pipe on the outside wall that you can climb to reach the second floor easily, or if you are feeling adventurous you can try to make your way to it from the inside.
After reaching the second floor, look for a door locked with a padlock. Break this lock and enter the room to find one of Star’s men; Serpentine. He will tell you about the other men stuck in the basement and also tell you about some important documents down there that can be valuable to retrieve. At this point “The Road To Salvation” will now have another objective of retrieving the said documents.
How To Find The Documents
After finding and rescuing Serpentine, start making your way to the ground floor and you will come across the stairs leading down to the basement. Get past the locked door by entering the code 2605 on the keypad. Make your way down the broken stairs but be cautious as there will be a Bloodsucker here you will need to fight. You will also find an electric anomaly which you will need to avoid as you make your way through the corridors.
At this point, Skif will have already concluded the fate of Star’s remaining men and that they are all dead, but you can still find the important documents here. You are looking for a small room with a fire sprout in one of the corners where you will find these documents about Product 81. After you have them, it’s time to leave the place by climbing back up the broken stairs but this time keep climbing up till you reach another locked door.
Enter the code 2603 to open it which will then lead you into a cutscene with “The Unknown”. You will face the decision to either agree or disagree to help him but both will result in the same outcome so it doesn’t matter what you choose.
Now just make your way back to the Detention Center after escaping the Factory from the tunnels and let Star know about the fate of his men. Give him the important documents about Product 81 to successfully finish “The Road To Salvation” side mission. This will now give you the PSZ-7 Military Body Armor as a reward.
