The Last of Us Limited Edition brand-new controller is set to release on March 14. The limited edition controller is made in collaboration with the creative team at Naughty Dog. The design of the controller brings up the moments and events from both The Last of Us Part 1 and The Last of Us Part II. Here are the details we know about the controller so far.
- The Limited Edition Last of Us controller will be available for purchase for $84.99/ €84.99 / £74.99.
- Preorders for the controller will begin on March 14, 2025, at 10 am local time.
- You can expect to see the controller on April 10, 2025, in retail. The exact launch date and the quantities will be different depending on the location.
- Eligible pre-orders from the PlayStation website may receive free launch-day delivery.
Neil Druckmann, Head of Creative, and Megan Mehran, Graphic Designer shared their vision behind the new controller’s design:
“We were excited by the chance to memorialize The Last of Us franchise in a controller that fans and our own team would love. We wanted to ensure that both installments of The Last of Us are represented, via trophy icons printed in black gloss across the controller body. Among the trophies, three particular images will immediately stand out for TLOU fans: The firefly, moth, and wolf. Players will recognize the Fireflies’ iconic spray-painted logo that originated in Part I, while the moth and wolf represent the intertwining lives and duality between Ellie and Abby in Part II.“
If you are planning to get the Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC via Steam or Epic on April 3, 2025, getting the controller will be a nice touch. The Last of Us TV show is also premiering on April 13, 2025, on HBO Max.
The official blog also revealed the launch information of the Dualsense Controller:
“Starting March 14, 2025 at 7am PT in the U.S., and 10am local time in the U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, players will be able to pre-order the DualSense wireless controller“
Sony is showing love to the Last of Us franchise by adding a new piece of hardware that celebrates the success of the franchise both in video games and the TV world.
