Stellar Blade, the action RPG from Korean developer Shift Up has crossed the 1 million copies sold landmark, and the objective of creating a large global IP has been successful with the game topping the charts in US and UK markets as well.
All this and much more was announced during the IPO press conference held by Shift Up. On the timelines and plan for a PC port for Stellar Blade, the Shift Up CEO Kim Hyeong-tae said “We are currently reviewing the Stellar Blade PC version, and since we are in a contractual relationship, please understand that we cannot tell you about the exact timing or availability.” He also went on to announce that there are plans being considered for DLCs down the line, as well as collaborations with other IPs like Goddess of Victory : Nikke : “Stellar Blade and Nikke are reviewing various opportunities to create positive synergy with each other, and I think we will be able to show you good results soon.” The game will also see photo mode updation during August and new outfits released around October as well.
The game, launched in end April has been extremely well-received and currently sits at a score of 81 from Critics and 9.2 from Users on Metacritic. The combat mechanics, boss fights, the protagonist and the world-building were some of the highlights of the game; and it is great to see a new IP succeeding to this extent – both critically and commercially. The plans from the developer to take the game ahead are also robust and it will be interesting to see what kind of a DLC takes form in the months ahead for Stellar Blade.
