When Is Slay The Spire 2 Coming To Mobile? – MegaCrit Responds

Slay The Spire fans were set into hysterics yesterday as the much beloved roguelike deckbuilder’s sequel was finally shown in all its glory via the recent Early Access Trailer.

However, not even the most hopeful fan would have guessed that the sequel would be dropping in early March. Meaning, the wait is almost over.

However, a question still looms for those who primarily enjoy Slay The Spire on mobile devices. Will the sequel be available on Android and IOS?

Well, to speak plainly, we have your answer. Yes… but not for a while.

Slay The Spire Fans On Mobile Will Have To Wait

There’s good news and bad news for STS fans who enjoyed the previous title in the series on mobile. The game will be coming to mobile eventually, as MegaCrit have responded via Twitter, confirming that it’s very much coming ‘at some point’.

However, the bad news is that ‘at some point’ has also been confirmed from the developers to not be within the Early Access period, which doesn’t have a definite end date as of yet.

not during Early Access, but at some point!

This means, if you want to enjoy Slay The Spire 2 in all its glory as the developers actively work towards the 1.0 version, you’ll need to play on PC, for now.

This has led to much speculation on time scales, and whether the mobile version will have suffer the same delays as the original title. But, for now, all we can do is watch and wait.

How Successful Was Slay The Spire On Mobile?

It should really go without saying that one of the most successful indie games, and one of the most addictive games on the planet sold like hot cakes on mobile.

But, to give you an idea of why an eventual mobile version of STS2 is such a big deal for fans and the developers alike, let me paint you a picture.

The game has well over one million downloads on Google Play, is an Editor’s Choice app on the App Store, indicating a similar story there, and, if we’re conservative and just take this game’s sales as one million on each platform. At a very reasonable $9.99, that works out at a staggering $19,980,000 in raw sales.

In short, Slay the Spire is a game that resonates with mobile gamers, and we have no doubt that the new iteration will be a similar story, especially with the new addition of four-player-co-op.
