Wuthering Waves: The Best Teams for Jingran

The second half of Wuthering Waves (‘WuWa”) 3.6 Update has officially arrived as of September 10, 2026, bringing the 5-star Fusion Broadblade user Jingran to limited banners. Following Qingxiao’s banner in the update’s first phase, Jingran’s debut is accompanied by rerun banners for two highly capable Resonators: the Lahai-Roi main DPS Hiyuki and the versatile support Mornye.

Recently, we’ve talked about the pros and cons of pulling Jingran in the game’s not-always-generous gacha systems, concluding that he is definitely worth the resource spending if you’re the type of player that likes to play the offensive, in-your-face style of fighting. But he does have a few quirks that need constant attention, so he is definitely not for everyone.

And just like many others in the WuWa meta, Jingran needs a team to maximize his efficiency in combat, so here are the most optimal team comps for him to shine.

Why Jingran Is Not a Standalone Unit

Wuthering Waves: Should You Pull For Jingran?

While Jingran’s individual attack multipliers are exceptionally high, his kit contains specific conditional triggers that require active support from his teammates. Without a proper party structure enabling his core mechanics, his overall damage ceiling remains severely restricted; unlike self-contained DPS characters like Camellya or Xiangli Yao.

The root of this dependency lies in his structural design. Jingran’s baseline DEF stat is permanently locked at 0, meaning defensive sub-stats and equipment provide him with zero physical damage mitigation. To compensate, his damage scaling, self-buffs, and healing intake convert directly from his Max HP, encouraging players to target a massive 50,000 HP pool. However, against aggressive endgame bosses, carrying a large health bar without natural defense still leaves him vulnerable to heavy incoming damage if left completely unsupported.

More importantly, Jingran’s primary damage engine—his Ghost Shroud resource, which converts into up to a 125% Fusion DMG Bonus through his Fortune in Disguise passive—only accumulates when other party members receive a shield. Because his self-generated shields do not count toward building these stacks, he relies entirely on his companions to feed his primary offensive multiplier. This raises an essential question for anyone building around him: which Resonators offer the necessary synergy to elevate Jingran to his peak performance?

    Jingran Best Team Builds

Since Jingran is not meant to be a solo enemy killer, you only have one other option, which is to put him in a party that enables him to reach his full potential.

Luckily, there is not “one” option for that, but quite a few:

    1. Jingran + Iuno + Shorekeeper

Iuno as a shielder, Shorekeeper as a healer. This is, by most accounts, as good as it gets when it comes to playing Jingran as the go-to offensive unit in an elemental hybrid party setting.

In this composition, Jingran can maximize both his offensive multipliers and shield mechanics, with Iuno serving as his premier sub-DPS partner due to her Outro skill, which grants a massive 50% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification for 14 seconds—directly powering Jingran’s primary damage source, his stance-swapping Heavy Attacks. Additionally, she also generates shields continuously across her rotation, rapidly building Jingran’s Ghost Shroud to its 50-stack cap to unlock his full 125% Fusion DMG Bonus. This is the meat of your team composition.

Shorekeeper completes the trio as a universal support, supplying vital healing to offset the HP consumption on Jingran’s Resonance Liberation while granting team-wide Crit Rate and Crit DMG buffs. Both of these factors play right into Jingran’s kit, since he needs a massive HP pool to withstand damaging blows, as well as depending on landing multiple critical hits to maximize damage per action taken.

Here’s the best rotation sequence for you to follow:

    • Shorekeeper: Start on Shorekeeper by casting her Skill, Resonance Liberation, and Main Echo to establish healing and team-wide Crit Rate and Crit DMG buffs.
    • Iuno: Swap to Iuno to execute her combo, activate her Full Moon Domain, and trigger her continuous party shields to pre-build Jingran’s off-field Ghost Shroud stacks. Trigger Iuno’s Outro Skill to pass a 50% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification to Jingran.
    • Jingran: Enter with Jingran using his Intro Skill (Question the Tombs), converting Iuno’s shield-generated Ghost Shroud into Fortune in Disguise stacks for up to 125% Fusion DMG Bonus. Immediately cast Resonance Liberation (Burial of Thousand Souls) to enter the 15-second Yinghuo state, gain 200 Qi, and receive 3 Wayfarer’s Mark stacks. Hold Resonance Skill at 300 Qi to unleash his stance-swapping Heavy Attack (Stardome Meander or Soul Raid). Utilize Wayfarer’s Mark Qi refunds alongside Stage 3/4 Basic Attacks and Cleanse of Impurity-enhanced Skills to continuously chain stance swaps and summon Chimei Wangliang before Yinghuo expires.

    2. Jingran + Lupa + Mornye

If you want to play the elemental game, a full-on Fusion team may be the way to go for you: Jingran is set to be the most powerful fire-based Resonator in the Wuthering Waves meta, but his lack of defensive stats will always put him in a bad spot sooner rather than later.

That’s why Lupa and Mornye (the latter of which is also offered in this second phase) bring much-needed flexibility. Lupa acts as a powerful offensive anchor, granting substantial Fusion DMG buffs to the entire party whenever three Fusion Resonators are fielded together.

And, to fulfill Jingran’s crucial shielding requirement without relying on Iuno, Mornye is brought in equipped with the 3-cost Spacetrek Explorer Echo in her main slot. Activating this Echo grants a party-wide shield that consistently triggers Jingran’s Ghost Shroud stacking, allowing him to maintain high Fusion bonuses while benefiting from Mornye’s All-DMG amplification and Off-Tune efficiency.

Here’s the best rotation sequence for you to follow:

    • Mornye: Begin on Mornye, activating her 3-cost Spacetrek Explorer Main Echo to grant a party-wide shield that builds Jingran’s Ghost Shroud. Cast Mornye’s Skill and Liberation to apply All-DMG amplification and increase Off-Tune efficiency.
    • Lupa: Swap to Lupa, using her Skill, Liberation, and Echo to activate her 3-Fusion party DMG buffs.
    • Jingran: Intro in with Question the Tombs to convert Ghost Shroud into Fortune in Disguise. Cast Liberation (Burial of Thousand Souls) to enter Yinghuo, then alternate Heavy Attacks (Stardome Meander / Soul Raid) at 300 Qi. Weave enhanced Skills (Netherworld Traverse / Afterlife’s Guide) during Cleanse of Impurity windows to dump all Qi before swapping out.

    3. Jingran + Mortefi + Verina

While both of our previous recommendations excel in pretty much all aspects of Wuthering Waves’ combat system, they both have one flaw: all characters involved are 5-star featured Resonators that are not currently available for pulling. And if you’re the kind of player that runs your gacha gaming sessions on a budget (or strictly no budget), then you’re cooked, because other than grinding a lot, you’ll have to spend actual money to have a shot at landing those other Resonators.

Thus, you need a free-to-play option, with Jingran being the only 5-star unit on your team. Luckily, there’s a team that meets that specific criteria: Mortefi (easy to pull as a 4-star character on most banners) is the ideal sub-DPS for this setup, as his Outro skill provides a strong Heavy Attack DMG buff alongside off-field coordinated attacks that trigger during Jingran’s field time. Alternatively, players who acquired Rebecca during the Cyberpunk collaboration can slot her in for her Heavy Attack and All-DMG amplification. But that may be asking for too much in this case (she was given for free, but the collab ended months ago, with no word of it coming back, though unlikely).

Pairing either sub-DPS with Verina (which is a 5-star Resonator you get for free through the game’s main storyline) or Baizhi (also for free, right at the beginning of the game) ensures fast rotation times, team-wide attack buffs, and consistent healing to keep Jingran healthy despite his 0 DEF stat.

Granted, you likely won’t reach Jingran’s damage potential with a F2P team config, but you will get close. And that is more than enough to make mincemeat of pretty much any enemy in the game.

Here’s the best rotation sequence for you to follow:

    • Verina (or Baizhi): Start with Verina, casting her Skill, Liberation, and Main Echo to trigger team-wide ATK buffs and healing.
    • Mortefi (or Rebecca): Swap to Mortefi, using his Skill and Liberation to initiate off-field coordinated attacks, then cast his Outro Skill to grant Jingran a Heavy Attack DMG buff.
    • Jingran: Intro with Question the Tombs and cast Liberation (Burial of Thousand Souls) to gain Wayfarer’s Mark stacks and enter Yinghuo. Execute Stage 3 & 4 Basic combos and Cleanse of Impurity Skills to rapidly build Qi, unleashing stance-swapping Heavy Attacks during Mortefi’s off-field attack window.

Why Not Pair Jingran With Rover

Wuthering Waves: The Best Teams for Jingran

If you’ve been playing Wuthering Waves for a while, then you’re likely wondering why none of our suggestions use Rover, since the game’s main character does have some solid, party-wide healing abilities in their Aero form. And we understand the confusion: on paper, it does look like an intuitive choice.

Aero Rover, as the community has taken to calling them, has healing skills that trigger automatically after pretty much any action taken with their kit, and while they are no attacking powerhouse, the offensive capabilities they bring are pretty interesting, given that that was one of the first units to bring aerial combat to an otherwise grounded mix during the Rinascita-Septimont arc (the part of the story that introduced Iuno and Augusta).

However, there are a few reasons why Aero Rover may not be the best idea for Jingran: the primary issue is the complete absence of shield generation in their kit. Jingran’s highest offensive multiplier—his Ghost Shroud system, which converts into an overwhelming 125% Fusion DMG Bonus—only builds when his teammates grant shields. Because Aero Rover relies purely on direct healing rather than defensive protection, fielding them alongside Jingran leaves his most potent damage buff virtually unstacked unless a third party member carries a specialized shield-granting Echo.

Furthermore, Aero Rover fails to supply the offensive utility that dedicated supports bring to the table. Premier options like Shorekeeper grant crucial Crit Rate and Crit DMG, Mortefi and Iuno provide massive Heavy Attack DMG amplification, and Verina delivers instant, team-wide damage buffs. Finally, Jingran requires extensive field time to manage his Qi gauge and cycle through his stance-swapping Heavy Attacks, which benefit directly from dedicated support Resonators that execute their skills and buffs in fast, minimal-field-time rotations. Aero Rover, on the other hand, will have to stay on field for a while longer for their healing ability to kick in, directly disrupting Jingran’s combat rhythm.

    Final Thoughts

“Lone wolfing” your way into a fight may be feasible with certain characters, but Kuro Games played their hand well on Jingran’s unique features: you need a team. Period. And that is the Chinese publisher’s way of enforcing that notion, since it’s only through teamplay that Wuthering Waves’ most fun combat features shine brighter.

In a sense, Jingran’s addition to Wuthering Waves can be seen as a sort of “lab test” for Kuro Games: much like Genshin Impact with its (fairly) recent additions of Lunar and Star reactions increasing an already voluminous pool of possible elemental interactions, Jingran’s “no defense because all offense” approach may prove that the game has room to grow despite seeming, at least sometimes, to have hit its ceiling.

It is also important to note that Jingran is like the intermediate part of the Mengzhou arc, and the next update will feature Hsin, the very first time a Sentinel was made available as a playable character.

    So the future looks promising.
