Palworld has given us a lot of great conversation starters since its release. What if Pokémon had guns? What if you could date your gun-wielding Pokémon? Wait, let’s dial that back a little.
Yes, you heard it right. Palworld is not only pushing the boundaries of ideas, copyright, and guns, but now, Pocketpair is rushing into romantic ventures. If you’re new to Palworld, you might not know that this has been a running in-fandom joke about when they are going to release a dating sim.
Factually, many games always have fans who will self-insert to date someone from the game, pushing the usual fan fiction boundaries into fan service territory. Regardless of how much of a purist one is, Palworld is pushing all buttons on our companions… literally, as we’ve seen in screenshots.
Palworld’s Dating Sim: The Strangest Announcement of the Day

Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~ is now a reality for anyone who has looked into the more intimate side, since many people have always wondered if this would actually work. Well, where there’s a will, there’s always an audience.
What if Pokémon had guns? What if you could date your gun-wielding Pokémon?
“Love is in the air!” Was the first phrase uttered right before April’s Fools, so we don’t think of it as a sick joke, as even the phrase “This is NOT an #AprilFoolsDay” in the ad to Wishlist the upcoming romancing game. Hopefully, this is a venture that Pokémon won’t want to try soon, given the fandom’s questionable history with such affairs.
The upcoming Steam game gets hard and heavy quickly as you arrive at the Palpagos Private Academy to start the adventure of love and loss. Loss is explained that if you reject the advances of other pals, you will eat them. Normal business.
Now, regardless of what one thinks, this could be a very smart decision from Pocketpair. Considering that this has been an in-game wink-wink-nudge-nudge idea, it only makes sense for them to capitalise and keep the in-joke going. After all, we know that there’s a huge market for any type of dating sim, so this might be a goldmine, no matter how weird.
