Kojima Added a Scaredycat Mode to His New Game

Not much has been said about the latest Hideo Kojima project called OD, but the latest tease keeps us waiting, huh? The game shouldn’t take 9 years to wake up from its coma, but it will scare everyone as much as possible, according to its creator. But we bring good news to Kojima’s loyal fans because if you’re someone who gets scared easily, Kojima has your back.

“I can’t say much more, because it’ll give too much of a hint on the system, and I could get in trouble for saying too much!” Kojima did a slip where he mentioned that there will be a system in the game to continue playing it if the player deems it to be too scary. Which is a first and a bold take. The famous game director continued by explaining that the game has a new game mechanics system, but he will not elaborate on it further in order not to spoil the surprise.

We will surely get more sneak peeks along the way, but for now, we can only rejoice in the things we have seen so far, like the fact that it carries a specific tone that was supposed to be shown in the cancelled Konami project of Silent Hills, so some speculate that it could be a continuation or some sort of attachment that we are yet to find out.

There will be a system in the game to continue playing it if the player deems it to be too scary.

The first moment of OD came to Hideo Kojima as he was still working with Death Stranding 1, he was doing it by himself, and he had already thought of then of a new gaming system which would debut with the horror game. Kojima stated that he had also pitched the idea to many people, who turned it down (which would explain his reluctance to comment on the gaming system to keep it under wraps).

OD is already set to the featuring part with the actors behind the 3 main roles, which are Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier. Udo Kier passed away recently, but it is known that they did manage to scan his body in time (something Kojima never misses on), so the involvement of the late actor is unknown as of now. More information on OD will be revealed as the game develops. But other than waiting, we don’t have much else to go on.
