It’s not even two weeks since the launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, now it has sold two million units. The news broke on X, where the Warhorse Studios made a toast with the fans for reaching the milestone. The game has received a positive reception from both fans and critics, now it has translated quite well to the financial side of the game.
If you take a peek at Steam’s concurrent player count, the first Kingdom Come Deliverance sat at 96,069 players at its peak. The release of the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 broke that number to over 250,000 players. The number tells an amazing success story, while it can’t be viewed as the only measurement, as we also have other platforms. But the Steam numbers serve as a good example of how far the sequel succeeded over the past release.
Lars Wingefors, CEO, Embracer hailed the game’s success by stating:
“The success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a reminder of our core – to bring great products to the market, high-quality teams need to have the resources and the time to execute their visions.
“When you have right teams, this trust benefits everyone, including gamers, employees and shareholders. I am convinced that we will remain among the industry leaders in our core business verticals in the future.”
The game is not planning to slow down any time soon. The developers are on their way to bringing new updates to the game to keep the player base alive. Last month, we heard the post-launch plans for Deliverance 2 including Hardcore mode and horse racing sessions. That’s not all, next year the game is set to receive three planned expansions and mod support for lengthening the community support for the game.
The game did amazingly well with the people, as it holds a 88 Critic Score on the Metacritic and a strong 8.5 on the User side. The game is available for purchase on all platforms: Xbox x/ Series S, Playstation5, and PC.
