One thing that South Park didn’t predict was a Hello Kitty Island Adventure DLC. Either that or maybe they just didn’t mention it. Regardless of how the world became aware of Hello Kitty’s latest game, its second DLC will be coming next month on the 16th of April.
Apparently, we will be taken away from the island adventure part of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and the gameplay will instead be more focused on building the city from the ground up. Given this mash-up with the latest cozy city and farm building sims, Hello Kitty looks to capitalise on the hype by trying to do everything within one game.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure faces an uphill battle for attention right now, as Nintendo’s Pokémon Pokopia has monopolized the attention within the cozy segment. Not that a little competition ever spooked Hello Kitty, of course.
What’s New in the Hello Kitty Island Adventure City Town DLC?

The DLC throws you into a city that doesn’t have much to offer at first. That’s by design: the game wants you to build Hellokittyopolis (or however you want to call it) from the ground up, adding your flavor to the stomping grounds of your usual Sanrio besties.
The popular bunny Usahana makes her first appearance in the game via the DLC. Much like the other characters in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Usahana will have 35 levels of friendship to unlock via gifts and other game mechanics. The bunny girl will be linked to the story of the DLC as you expand the city. The player gets to be in charge of opening new shops in town, which are different from the ones on the island.

Just like Friendship Island has the cabins for the visitors, the city will have a Rainbow Tower, which will welcome the friends and family of the core group to visit you in the DLC, as well as new friends such as Pannya-chan, Buppyu-kun, Wanwa-chan, Sora-kun, and Nyako-chan.
There’s obviously plenty to do specifically for the main gamers of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, with 90 quests to dig into. Considering that Usahana is being added to City Town is already a massive reason for many Sanrio fans to join up, this DLC is pretty huge. I was initially shocked to see Usahana missing in the original game, given her popularity. The DLC promises over 30 additional hours to add to the cozy game.
Sanrio also teased that a surprise new guest will be showing up in a cameo, so it looks like we will have to stay tuned for the big reveal.
