With the arrest of singer D4vd, things will change when it comes to how we view Twitch streaming, Discord chats, and even cosmetic purchases related to the singer, currently being held without bail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
The singer D4vd was closely linked to gaming and anime, a trail that left internet sleuths with plenty of crumbs to pick up, from alter egos to references and song lyrics believed to be related to the horrors that have been revealed to the public.
When it comes to Fortnite, David Burke, the singer’s real name, started off by making music for Fortnite montages, and his song “Locked & Loaded” was deemed an official Fortnite anthem by Epic Games. The link continued with even certain items being able to be won in a “D4vd Cup” event back in 2024.
From Fortnite Star to Murder Suspect

It’s been around a year since the body of minor Celeste Rivas was found decomposed and mutilated in a car that is registered to the singer. Celeste Rivas was D4vid’s alleged girlfriend at the time of her disappearance.
David Burke was arrested a year after the discovery, despite a lot of incriminating evidence surfacing before, making it a very troubling case for its cruelty. While the way the police dealt with the case drew a lot of criticism in the first place, it seems that now things are starting to be picked up in a way that leaves the public more pleased after the shocking murder.
First, Twitch came out to say that they had banned D4vd from streaming once he was arrested for the murder of Celeste Rivas. It seemed like an obvious move to pull earlier once the singer was being investigated in the first place, but better late than never.
Now, Epic Games spoke up to say that it will offer “immediate self-service refunds” to players who had purchased Fortnite cosmetics in the shape of skins for characters and jam tracks used in the popular multiplayer shooter.

The self-service refunds will now finally be available starting from Tuesday, April 28th, according to the official Fortnite Status X account. If a player wishes to get a refund instantly, then this can be done by contacting the appropriate Fortnite support channels. Apparently, the players who have spoken up about getting refunds for the cosmetic items back in September 2025 are now receiving the refunds.
There hasn’t been any further information on removing the D4vd items from the game or an option to remove the purchased and related items for the affected players. Epic Games stated that the self-service refunds are only “a bunch of changes we’re rolling out over time”, so maybe this is just the first move.
D4vd is now charged with murder and is being held in custody without bail. Burke’s attorneys say that they will defend his innocence, but prosecutors alleged they have 40 terabytes of evidence against the singer.
