Capcom has decided to pull the plug on Resident Evil Re: Verse, the multiplayer game that came along with Resident Evil: Village, stating “reached a new turning point for the series.” While those who own the game will be able to play it till June 29, anyone looking to buy the game will not be able to do so after Mar 3, when it gets removed from all online stores.

    • After June 29, Resident Evil Re: Verse will no longer be part of Resident Evil: Village.
    • You will lose RP Boosters and Premium Pass once the service gets cut off on June 29.
    • After March 3, you will lose access to all the DLC content:
      • Jill Skin: Battle Suit (Resident Evil 5)
      • Chris Skin: Gun Show (Resident Evil 5)
      • Claire Skin: Leather Jacket (Resident Evil Revelations 2)
      • Hunk Skin: Grim Reaper (The Mercenaries 3D)
      • Ada Skin: Still Kicking (The Umbrella Chronicles)
      • Leon Skin: Leather Jacket (Resident Evil 6)
      • Creature Skin: Super Tyrant 1998 (Resident Evil 2)
      • Creature Skin: Hunter γ (Resident Evil Outbreak)
      • Premium Pass
      • RP Booster x3
      • RP Booster x10
      • RP Booster x50

“Resident Evil Re: Verse was developed in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, and your overwhelming support for the game has far exceeded our expectations since the time of its release,” Capcom said. “Now that we’ve reached a new turning point for the series, we feel that Resident Evil Re: Verse has served its original, celebratory purpose admirably.

“We are incredibly grateful for your warm support for Resident Evil Re: Verse, and we deeply apologize for bringing you this disappointing news.”

While critics and fans of the original were heavily disappointed with the release of the Re: Verse alongside Resident Evil 3 Remake, some people did like the premise and the potential Re: verse had to offer. It’s sad to see Capcom shutting down the game, but we hope they will take the lesson from Re: verse core design and improve it on the next release.
