The news on Grand Theft Auto VI just keeps coming! Feels like anyone got barely any time to recover from the last updates on the fact that there will be no physical edition on launch date (or ever), or its stingy price among a bunch of other things. It feels like Rockstar is doing a massive run to confuse everyone about the highly anticipated game.
It will certainly be a huge launch regardless, no matter how many corners Rockstar attempts to cut in order to get more revenue and line their pockets with gamer money. The wait is nearly over, so the news trickling in about the details is showing up.
So… will Grand Theft Auto VI run at 60 FPS?
GTA 6 Unlikely to Hit 60 FPS

The tech experts at Digital Foundry looked at the latest game info, and it looks like we shouldn’t be expecting great performance on PS5, and that includes the PS5 Pro. Because of the open-world nature of the game, it could be a case that the developers were ‘forced’ to push graphics lower because of CPU limitations. Now, even if you play on a PS5 Pro, which has better graphical abilities, the CPU still remains in the same ballpark.

Digital Foundry expanded that there could be a 40 FPS version running on 120Hz panels, which would be a nice solution for Grand Theft Auto, as it will not compromise visual technique as we’ve seen with other games in the same resolutions. What we have seen from the previews is that it’s highly doubtful that it will go beyond 30 FPS, and it feels like 30 FPS as of now.
Rockstar has yet to comment on the speculations floating online, but some retailers claim that there might just be a separate Performance mode, but with how they’ve been keeping it all under wraps, Performance mode could be just a quick addition in the documents by retailers who filled it up in haste to avoid further questions and put the listing up.
As these words are not from Rockstar, the most we can do is speculate, but leave the creators of GTA VI to clear up what’s going on in the FPS department.
